Educational Qualification

Here We will provide educational qualification of all categories like General /OBC /SC/ST.

For General /NC OBC Caste
  • The candidate must hold a Bachelor’s Degree with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA.
  • Candidates in the final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for CAT 2019
  • If selected, the final year candidates will be allowed to join the programme provisionally, only if she/he submits a certificate latest by June 30, 2020, from the Principal/ Registrar of the College/Institute (issued on or before June 30, 2020) stating that the candidate has completed all the requirements for obtaining the bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate
  • Candidates who have completed a professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with 50% marks
For SC/ST Caste
  • Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Differently Abled (DA) category candidates need  45% marks in graduation.
  • Candidates in the final year of Graduation are also eligible to apply for CAT 2019
  • Candidates who have completed a professional degree (CA/CS/ICWA) with 45% marks


  • Citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or a subject of Bhutan, or a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Limit

  • Minimum Age: 20 years
  • Maximum Age: No Upper Age Limit.

No of attempts in CAT 2019 Exam

The CAT exam does not put any barrier over the number of attempts. A candidate is allowed to appear for infinite times. There is no limit for the CAT exam candidates to the number of attempts of giving the exam. But here is to be noted that a candidate appearing for the CAT 2019 exam must fulfil the complete eligibility criteria mentioned by the board.
