CEED Exam Pattern


CEED 2020 Exam Pattern is set by IIT Bombay and the exam is scheduled to be held on January 18, 2020.
  • CEED 2020 exam pattern has been changed for admission 2020. The number of questions asked in the CEED exam, as well as the marking scheme, has changed in the CEED exam.
  • The exam will be held in two different parts: Parts A and Part B. Both the parts are conducted on the same day only and aspirants need to appear for both the exams on the given date and time slot.
  • The time duration of the exam will be of 3 hours out of which for Part A time will be one hour and two hours for Part B.
  • The test will be conducted only in English medium.
  • Only those candidates who will be able to qualify Part A are eligible to sit for Part B.
  • The question is both MCQ and normal compulsory questions.

CEED Exam Pattern in Detail

The CEED exam pattern will be different for both the papers. Part A will be concerned with assessing the general awareness ability of aspirants whereas, Part B is all about the designing.

Part A

Part A comprised of a total of 100 marks and 3 sections. Part A will be a Computer Based Test of the time duration of 1 hour.
  • Part A contains objective type questions (multiple choice questions).
  • Answers to Part A have to be given on the computer (Online).
  • These will be design aptitude type questions that evaluate visual and spatial ability, environment and social awareness, language, analytical and logical reasoning, observation and design sensitivity of candidates.
  • Marks obtained in Part A will be used to shortlist candidates for part B.

Part B

  • Part B consists of questions that are aimed at drawing, testing design, and writing skills.
  • In Part B, there will be 5 questions of total 100 marks. Each of 20 marks. There will not any optional questions.
  • The questions in Part B will be displayed on the computer screen and the answers are to be written in the answer book provided by the invigilator (NOT into the computer).
  • However, you need to tick the appropriate box on the computer screen to indicate that you have answered the same question.
  • Part B answers will be collected at the end of the examination.
  • Part B answer books will be evaluated manually for the candidates who are shortlisted from Part A.
