COVID-19 Impact: DU Plans to Promote First, Second Year Students without Exams Expected

Due to the view of COVID 19 outbreak in the whole country earlier the Delhi university earlier, has postponed all types of examinations for regular and also correspondence students until further notice. As the latest updates, DU is expected to cancel the first and second-year student’s examinations and introduce them to the next year without performing in the final examinations or semester exam. According to a recent meeting held between the Delhi University senior officials the proposal to cancel the examinations was put forward. Still, the officials advised conducting the examinations for final year students. The University is also thinking to prepone the summer holidays from April 15 to May 15 in order to avoid any delay in the next academic session.

If the proposal of Delhi University Cancel the examination (1st & Second Year) is ratified, the Candidates will be promoted to the next year which is based on their past academic record. The suggestion (proposal) was made on the fact that the number of students in the first year is higher than the second-year students, and moreover, the strength of students in the second year is higher than that of the third year. Recognizing this fact, the officials highlighted the concern over the difficulty of conducting the exam.
