Normalised AR score of an applicant is equal to their AR score divided by the average of the top 50 AR scores from the applicants’ pool, (the applicants’ pool, in this case, is defined as the group of candidates who appear for CAT-2018 and apply to IIMA.)
Shortlisting for Analytical Writing Test (AWT) & Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisting will be carried out in two stages.
Stage 1: (From the Applicants’ pool: Selection of exceptional performers across different disciplines)
Case 1: From each of the academic categories (AC) for which the total number of applicants to IIM A who appear for CAT from all reserved categories is at least 100, the top 5% in the respective AC limited to the respective categories (General/SC/ST/NC-OBC/PWD) among the applicants to IIM A who appear for CAT, henceforth referred to as ACRC groups, (subject to upper limits on the numbers per ACRC group) will be shortlisted for AWT & PI on the basis of the composite score ‘CS’ subject to their fulfilling criteria C1-C3:

Criteria C1-C3:
C1: PVRC, PDILR, PQA and PT must be greater than or equal to the minimum cut-offs.
C2: P ≥ Minimum cut-offs (specific to the category and the stream) where P is the average of the percentages of marks scored in 10th and 12th std. examinations. The following table shows the Minimum required cut-off for P across different disciplines and different categories:

Criteria C4-C6:
C4: PT ≥ 80, PQA ≥ 70, PDILR ≥ 70 and PVRC ≥ 70.
C5:P ≥ 80 (Science), 77 (Commerce), 75 (Arts/Humanities), where P is the average of the percentages of marks scored in the 10th and 12th std. examinations.
C6: (Percentage of marks in the bachelor’s examination) ≥ Minimum cut-off percentage, to be set at the 80th percentile of the percentage of marks of the respective AC group of the applicants’ pool, (the applicants’ pool in this case being defined as the group of candidates who appear for CAT, apply to IIM Ahmedabad and belong to the respective AC.)
Step 2: After removing the exceptional candidates selected in Stage 1 from each category, the additional number of candidates to be shortlisted for AWT & PI will be selected on the basis of the composite score (CS) subject to their fulfilling criteria (C1-C2).
Final Selection
IIM A will conduct its AWT & PIs in the selected cities across India viz. Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai and New Delhi/NCR.
Final selection of the candidate will be done strictly on the basis of their ranks computed separately for each category on the basis of their ‘Final Composite Scores’ (FCS).
FCS = 0.50 (Normalised PI Score) + 0.10 (Normalised AWT Score) + 0.40 (CS)
The normalised PI and AWT scores of a candidate are their scores in the respective field divided by the average of the top 1% scores in the same field respectively.

Scholarship
The IIM Ahmedabad offers many scholarships schemes for the students and can be availed for any course. These scholarships recognize merit and talent of students. Students may apply for the Scholarships at the beginning of the academic year. College offers a scholarship for the following categories.
- Students belonging to the economically weaker sections are eligible for fee concession.
- Merit cum means based scholarships are also awarded by the college to deserving students.
- There is a Book Bank facility in the library from where needy students can borrow textbooks for the whole academic year.
- Some special scholarships are also provided by the Delhi University for students belonging to SC/ ST/ BPL/ PWD categories.
- Merit & National Scholarships for brilliant students under Central & State Govt.
- Scholarships for the wards of Ex-servicemen.
- Scholarships for the wards of Riot Affected.
Important Note: As per Director of Public Instructions, the amount of scholarship to students will be transferred directly to the Aadhar Card linked bank account of the beneficiaries.

Cutoff
The IIM Ahmedabad Cutoff is the minimum marks prescribed by the selection board for the admission of students. Merit list will be designed on these Cutoff scores. Aspirants who apply for the Institute needs to clear the Cutoff for various courses. The Cutoff will be based on various parameters like numbers of applying candidates, total numbers of seats and last year admission record.
