Admission Process

• Admission Seeker can apply through their Common Aptitude Test (CAT) score and also apply through GMAT.
• Admission Seeker must full fill all the required eligibility criteria made under the admission Guidelines.

The admission process of IIM Bangalore will be based on-

Stage 1- Shortlisting of candidates for personal appearance
The first phase is applicable for all the candidates to shortlist candidates for personal appearance round which include the following rounds:

• Written Ability Test
• Personal Interview

Only candidates who meet the minimum section-wise and overall percentile will be considered. IIM Bangalore released the cutoff for selection process.

Candidates who are shortlisted as per the table mentioned above, their 10th and 12th scores are adjusted by dividing each score by the 90th percentile score. To identify the 90th percentile, past two years records of the CAT aspirants are used.
The adjusted score of the candidates is calculated for a bachelor’s degree based on the final score obtained by the participant are used for a professional degree and bachelor’s degree. The intermediate or incomplete score of graduation are considered only if the final score of the participant is pending. The incomplete graduation score will be taken in lieu of the final graduation score.
Only candidates who have been shortlisted as per the table above with Company Secretary, Cost Accounting, and Chartered Accountancy will be eligible for weightage for the category of professional course. No other professional course will be applicable other than mentioned above.

Candidates who will be shortlisted their work experience will be calculated as:
= 8x/36 if 0 < x< 36
= 8 if x>= 36

Note– Score will peak at 36 months of experience and will be at a level for the experience exceeding 36 months.
In the pre PI stage, the work experience (maximum 8) will be multiplied by the quality of work experience on a 5 pointer scale (0.25, 0.5, 1, 1.5, 2) which will be given by the interviewers in stage 2.

Stage 2- Preparing the final merit list
In this stage, the performance of each participant in each parameter will be evaluated on the following basis

Note: IIM Bangalore follows a comprehensive multi-criteria process at the pre-PI stage, it is able to identify many candidates for the PI who have an excellent academic record and work experience but who, while doing well enough in the CAT to be in the first shortlist, may have narrowly missed the high score that would have been required if CAT alone was the basis for the PI shortlist. Such candidates effectively replace candidates who have only a high CAT score but score poorly in terms of their past academic record and work experience.

Scholarship

The IIM Bangalore offers many scholarships schemes for the students and can be availed for any course. These scholarships recognize merit and talent of students. Students may apply for the Scholarships at the beginning of the academic year. College offers a scholarship for the following categories.

• Students belonging to the economically weaker sections are eligible for fee concession.
• Merit cum means based scholarships are also awarded by the college to deserving students.
• There is a Book Bank facility in the library from where needy students can borrow textbooks for the whole academic year.
• Some special scholarships are also provided by the Delhi University for students belonging to SC/ ST/ BPL/ PWD categories.
• Merit & National Scholarships for brilliant students under Central & State Govt.
• Scholarships for the wards of Ex-servicemen.
• Scholarships for the wards of Riot Affected.

Important Note: As per Director of Public Instructions, the amount of scholarship to students will be transferred directly to the Aadhar Card linked bank account of the beneficiaries.

Cutoff

The IIM Bangalore Cutoff is the minimum marks prescribed by the selection board for the admission of students. Merit list will be designed on these Cutoff scores. Aspirants who apply for the Institute needs to clear the Cutoff for various courses. The Cutoff will be based on various parameters like numbers of applying candidates, total numbers of seats and last year admission record.
