Admission Process
- Admission Seeker can apply through their Common Aptitude Test (CAT) score and also apply through GMAT Score.
- Admission Seeker must full fill all the required eligibility criteria made under the admission Guidelines.
Following steps are included in the IIM Shillong Admission process 2021-
- All the shortlisted candidates are eligible to participate in Final selection round for admission to IIM Shillong
- Shortlisted candidates are required to fill in the Interview form and upload the same on IIM Shillong website
- IIM Shillong would send GD& PI call letters/interview letters to those shortlisted candidates who correctly fill in the Interview form within the stipulated time
- No communication would be sent to applicants who are not short-listed for GD& PI
- IIM Shillong final selection criteria consist of Group Discussion (GD) Round and Personal Interview (PI) Round.
- After final admission round, IIM Shillong will generate final merit list for selected candidates on the basis of CAT score, performance in GD-PI, Academic profile among others
- Offer for admissions will be made based on this merit list
- The scores used will be the Score in GD; Score in PI; Overall CAT Absolute Score which will further be normalized for preparation of the final merit list
- This process includes a total number of candidates appearing in the GD and PI process. An overall score for every appearing candidate will be calculated using the Normalized score of Performance of the candidate in GD; Normalized score of Performance of the candidate in PI; Normalized score of Performance of the candidate in CAT Absolute Score (overall)
- Relevant weight for the performance of the candidate will be awarded on GD-PI
- There will be different cut-off scores for the candidate’s performance in GD and PI in different categories.

PGP | The candidate must hold a bachelor’s degree, with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA (in case of the candidate belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe (ST)/Persons with Disabilities (PWD) category, this is relaxation to 45%), of any of the universities. |
PhD Programs | The candidate must have a Master’s degree in any discipline, with at least 55% marks, with a Bachelors degree/ equivalent qualification with at least 50% marks obtained after a minimum of three years of education after completing higher secondary schooling (10+2) or equivalent. |
FDP | Current and prospective faculty members and researchers of management institutes, university departments, degree colleges and other professional/ staff training Institutes are eligible to apply. |
Ph.D (Working Professionals) | The candidate should have a Masters’ degree and at least 5 years of professional experience as on the last day of application. No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the current employer is required at the time of Personal Interview. Completed Graduation with minimum 55% aggregate marks for General Candidates. 5% relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates. The candidates should have a Masters’ degree or its equivalent in any discipline with minimum 55% aggregate marks, 5% relaxation will be given to reserved category candidates.OR Completed Graduation along with Professional qualifications of CA, ICWA and CS with at least 55% marks or equivalent |
Master in Business Administration (Working Executives) | The candidates should have a Bachelor’s Degree or it’s equivalent in any discipline with minimum 50% aggregate marks or an equivalent CGPA. Work experience of 5 years is desirable. However, exceptional candidates having a minimum of 3 years of experience will be considered as well. Work experience after completion of the bachelor degree will be considered. Candidates with and without CAT/GMAT scores are also welcome. |

Cutoff
The IIM Shillong Cutoff is the minimum marks prescribed by the selection board for the admission of students. Merit list will be designed on these Cutoff scores. Aspirants who apply for the Institute needs to clear the Cutoff for various courses.
