Hello Aspirants, the IISER Aptitude Test counselling process 2020 will be conducted by the Indian Institutes of Science Education and Research. The IISER Bhopal has the authority to manage and regulate the IISER seat allocation in the seven IISER institutes for the academic year 2020-21. The counselling process for KVPY Channel the 1st round of seat allotment start 1 June 2020, for JEE Advanced Channel the 1st round of seat allotment start 17 June 2020 and SCB Channel the 1st round of seat allotment start 22 June 2020.

The IISER Entrance Exam is conducted for those aspirants who want to get admission in BS and BS-MS (Dual-Degree) programmes at one of the seven IISERs colleges across the country. IISER Aptitude Test 2020 Counselling

The IISER admissions 2020 will be conducted in three channels: JEE, KVPY and SCB. Candidates can apply for admission through any of the three options, but they will have to fulfil the eligibility criteria for each channel individually.

IISER Aptitude Test Counselling Process

Step-1: Filling of application form: Those Candidates whose names appear in the merit list of IISER Aptitude Test those candidates will have to fill the application form to become eligible to participate in IISER Aptitude Test Counselling 2020. If any candidates are applying through different channels then they will have to fill the separate application form for each of them.

Step-2: Choice Filling & Locking: Fill and lock the choices in order of the preference of colleges and programmes. Based on the choices filled seat allotment will be done.

Step-3: Seat Allotment: The seat allotment process Based on the availability of seats, merit and preference entered, candidates, will be allotted seats.

Step-4: Seat Allocation Fee Payment: To confirm the seat, candidates will have to pay the fees through Net Banking or e-Challan.

Step-5: Verification of Documents: After that, the aspirants will have to go through the document verification process at the help centres.

Step-6: Reporting at Counselling Venue:- applicants are required to be present at the venue of the counselling where they will be allotted seats according to their rank and the availability of the seat in the institute.

Documents Required

Candidates must bring the documents listed below in Original and along with one set of photocopies for verification during admission. Candidates must also submit one Attested copy set of following documents during counselling.

  • Admit card of JEE Advanced, KVPY and IISER
  • Counselling Letter
  • Scorecard of JEE Advanced, KVPY and IISER
  • Class 10th mark sheet and certificates
  • Demand Draft
  • Class 12th mark sheet and certificates
  • Passport size photograph
  • Category certificate

IISER 2020 Seat Allotment

KVPY Channel

For KVPY First Round Allotment:

  • The following students have been allotted seats in the first round of KVPY channel.
  • Please log into the application portal to download your offer letter.
  • As mentioned in the offer letter, you will have to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (through the link given in the application portal) before the offer expires.

SCB Channel

For SCB First Round Allotment:-

  • The following candidates have been allocated a seat in the SCB first round.
  • Candidates log in to the application portal to download your offer letter.
  • The offer has to accepted by paying Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) before 22 June 2020.

Note:- The offer of admission is subject to the verification of information provided in the application form at the time of registration.

For SCB Second Round Allotment:-

  • The following candidates have been allotted a seat or floated (offered in the first allotment) in the SCB second round and candidates log in to the application portal to download your offer letter.
  • Candidates allotted in this round need to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) before 01 July 2020. Candidate can participate in subsequent float rounds only if you pay the SAF by this deadline.
  • Candidates who have been floated should not pay the SAF once again.
  • If the candidate application number was there in the first round of allotment and not here then it means that candidate is not floated and your original offer is valid. If candidate application number appears both in the first and second round, it means that you have been floated to an IISER of your higher preference and this allocation is only valid.

For SCB Third Round Allotment:-

  • The following candidates have been allotted a seat or floated (offered in the first/second allotment) in the SCB third round and candidate log in to the application portal to download your offer letter.
  • Candidates allotted in this round need to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) before 06 July 2020.
  • Candidates who have been floated should not pay the SAF once again.
  • If the candidate application number was there in the first/second round of allotment and not here then it means that you are not floated and your original offer is valid. If candidate application number appears in the first/second as well as in the third round, it means that candidate has been floated to an IISER of your higher preference and this allocation is only valid.

For SCB Fourth Round Allotment:-

  • The following candidates have been allotted a seat or floated (offered in the previous rounds) in the fourth round of the SCB channel. Please log in to the application portal to download your offer letter.
  • Candidates allotted in this round need to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) after the seat allotment in before 12 July 2020.
  • Candidates who have been floated should not pay the SAF once again.
  • If candidate application number was there in any of previous rounds of allotment and not here then it means that you are not floated and your last offer is valid. If candidate application number appears in the previous as well as in the fourth round, it means that candidate has been floated to an IISER of your higher preference and the current allocation is only valid.
  • Please note this may be the last round of allotment before registration for admission.

For SCB Fifth Round Allotment:-

  • The following candidates have been allotted a seat or floated (offered in the previous rounds) in the fifth and final round of SCB channel. Please log in to the application portal to download your offer letter.
  • Candidates allotted in this round need to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) before 19 July 2020.
  • Candidates who have been floated should not pay the SAF once again.
  • If candidate application number was there in any of the previous rounds of allotment and not here then it means that you are not floated and your last offer is valid. If candidate application number appears in the previous as well as in this round, it means that you have been floated to an IISER of your higher preference and the current allocation is only valid.

Note:- In case you need an extension for the date of registration, please contact the office of Dean (Academics) of the IISER (as mentioned in your offer letter) you have been allotted/floated to.

JEE Advanced Channel

For JEE First Round Allotment:-

  • The following candidates from JEE channel have been allotted seats in IISER in the first round.
  • Candidates download your offer letter by logging into the application portal.
  • Candidates will have to accept this offer by paying a Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF) before 21 June 2020.

For JEE Final Round Allotment:-

  • The following candidates from JEE channel have been allotted seats in IISER in the second round (final float around for JEE channel) and candidate please download your new offer letter by logging into the application portal.
  • If the candidate application number was there in the first round and not here then it means that candidate is not floated and your original offer is valid. If candidate application number appears both in the first and second round, it means that you have been floated to an IISER of your higher preference and you’re this allocation is only valid.

Q. What are the channels available for admission to IISERs?

A. There are three channels available for admission into IISERs:
KVPY (Kishore Vaigyanik Protsahan Yojana)
IIT-JEE (Advanced)
SCB (State and Central Boards).

Q. Who awards the BS-MS degree?

A. Each IISER is an autonomous institution. Therefore, the degree award by individual IISERs.

Q. I am an OCI/PIO cardholder. Should I apply as a foreign candidate?

A. No. You should apply through our regular application portal. International students are those candidates who are NOT citizens of India by birth or naturalized and do not belong to PIO/OCI category, and whose parents are not citizens of India and do not come under PIO/OCI category at the time of applying.

Q. Are there seats for foreign candidates other than PIO/OCI cardholders?

A. Yes. Foreign candidates can apply only through the JEE-Advanced channel. The top 10000 rank holders (including the foreigners) in the CRL of IIT JEE (Advanced) become eligible for admission to the BS/BS-MS programme of IISERs. Application of a foreign candidate through any channel other than JEE-Advanced will reject.

Q. Do I need to apply separately for each channel?

A. Yes. Applicants are required first to do the registration on the application portal. Then, this registration account could use to Fill the application form(s) of any of the three channels. Each channel requires a separate online application and payment of application fee. The applicant must check the eligibility criteria for each channel through which they wish to apply.

Q. Do I have to write the IISER aptitude test?

A. Yes, only if you are applying through the SCB channel.

Q. What will be the mode of the exam?

A. The mode of IISER 2020 is a computer-based (online).

Q. In which language will test conduct?

A. The IISER 2020 question paper will be available in Hindi & English languages. Candidates will be able to choose as per their preference.

Q. What is the Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF)?

A. If you have allotted to one of the IISERs, you need to pay the Seat Acceptance Fee (within the due date) through the counselling portal to accept the offer and confirm that you intend to join one of the IISERs. The Seat Acceptance Fee amounts to Rs. 35,000/- (Rs.25000/- + Rs. 10000/- (Non refundable administrative fee)) for General/EWS/OBC-NCL categories and Rs.22500 (Rs.12,500/- + Rs. 10000/- (Non refundable administrative fee)) for SC/ST/PwD/KM categories. Failure to deposit the SAF within the stipulated time will result in the cancellation of the offer. Furthermore, you will not consider in any subsequent rounds of seat allotment during admission 2020. Once you register in your allotted IISER, this amount will adjust against your first-semester fee.

Q. I will be waiting for my 12th result in 2020. Am I eligible for an exam?

A. Yes, you will be eligible to apply for IISER 2020.

  1. I secured 81 mark in iiser aptitude test and i belongs to obc ncl category. Can i get admission at iiser. Or better to drop a year
