Admission Procedure

Below have mentioned the Institute of Public Health and Hygiene Jammu Admission Process.

General Nursing and Midwifery

  • The minimum and Maximum ages for admission will be 17 and 35 years. There is no age bar for ANM/LHV.
  • Minimum education:
    1. 10+2 passed with English, preferably Science (PCB), with an aggregate of 40% marks.
    2. 10+2 in Arts (Mathematics, Biotechnology, Economics, Political Science, History, Geography, Business Studies, Accountancy, Home Science, Sociology, Psychology, and Philosophy) and English Core/English Elective or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY, passing out from recognized Board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board with 40% marks.
    3. 10+2 vocational ANM under the CBSE Board or other equivalent board from the school and recognized by the Indian Nursing Council with 40% marks.
    4. Registered as ANM with the State Nursing Registration Council.
  • The student shall be medically fit.
  • Students qualified in 10+2 Arts or Science examination or Health care Science – Vocational stream ONLY by National Institute of Open School with 40% marks.
  • The student shall be admitted once a year.

B.Sc Nursing Programme (4 Years)

  • The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on 31st December of the year in which admission is sought.
  • Minimum education:
  • 10+2 class passed with Science (PCB) & English Core/English Elective with an aggregate of 45% marks from recognized board under AISSCE/CBSE/ICSE/SSCE/HSCE or other equivalent Board.
  • The student shall be medically fit.
  • Students appearing in the 10+2 examination in Science conducted by the National Institute of Open School with 45% marks.
  • The student shall be admitted once a year.

Rule and Regulation

  • All the Courses of IPH&H are Under Scheme – A, i.e., on Day Scholar-basis, and are Full-Time Courses in nature. The classes will be conducted daily (from Monday to Saturday, 09.00 A.M. to 05.00 P.M.) with special training in the usage of Computers in the Medical field. Both sexes are eligible.
  • Employed persons should apply with a “No Objection Certificate” from the employers if they wish to attend any course Under Scheme-A or Scheme-B i.e. under the ‘Postal Coaching/Correspondance-cum-Contact Programme’.
  • Scheme “B” (Under Distance & Continuing Education Scheme) includes a score of Year Diploma Courses, admission to which is open every year from April to October. Facilities for these in-service Programmes are available only for those who are under employment in concerned fields. The employed persons seeking admission under any of the schemes are expected to furnish a “No Objection Certificate” from their employers.
  • Dress: All the Male/Female students are required to wear white clothes during the Theoretical/Practical training classes/field practice and a “White Doctor’s Coat” in the regular training classes. The students are required to be properly dressed for all classes to ensure a regular hygienic standard and identity.
  • The Apron will be supplied by the Institute, on payment, with insignia/monogram of ‘IPH&H’. Wearing a prescribed dress i.e. White Coat with the insignia “IPH&H” during theoretical and practical training is compulsory during the training period.
