Due to COVID-19 Kerala Board SSLC, HSE 2020 Exams Postponed

The Kerala Government has postponed the remaining Class 10 (SSLC) and higher secondary examinations (12th) due to the increasing cases of coronavirus in India. The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. This is the first time that Kerala has postponed board exams, an important event in a state that has near-universal education.

The board exams in Kerala started from March 10 onwards and were expected to end on March 26, 2020. There were three exams pending for Class 10th and six for class 12th.

Kerala 10th and 12th exams Postponed

Kerala so far has reported 30 COVID-19 positive cases and about 30,000 people are under observation. Previously, Kerala board decided to not to postpone SSLC(10th) and 12th examinations 2020 and go by as per the schedule decided. However, this decision received a lot of flack from parents, teachers and students after which it was decided to postpone the exams till March 31st.

But after the announcement of lockdown due to covid-19 coronavirus till 14 April 2020 the dates are not been released and postponed till next announcement.

No Exams for Class 8 and 9

It has also been decided by the government of Kerla that there will be no exams for Class 8 and 9 in Kerala state. As per the reports of newpaper, the political parties are demanding to postponing all examinations, but it was only on March 20, 2020 that the CM decided to postpone the exams.
