Know everything about NEET 2022 Exam: NEET or National Eligibility Entrance Test is a qualifying examination for BDS and MBBS programs in Indian dental and medical colleges. This test is conducted by National Testing Agency NTA.

Syllabus

National Medical College (NMC) has stated that the syllabus of NEET (UG) 2022. And the question paper will be prepared based on the same syllabus, available on the NMC website.

Exam Pattern

NEET exam 2022 has two sections. Every subject will constitute two sections, A and B, Section A has 35 questions, and Section B has 15 questions. From these 15 questions, candidates are free to choose any 10 questions, keeping the total number of questions attempted the same.

Eligibility to appear in the NEET (UG) 2022

According to the regulations of NMC and DCI, the eligibility appearing in the NEET-UG 2022 are-

  • A candidate must complete 17 years of age at the time of admission, or they must complete that age on or before 31st December of admission to the first year of the Undergraduate Medical Course.
  • The upper age limit is 25 years as of the exam date. Candidates belonging to the SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwBD category have 5 years.
  • Citizens in India or Overseas Citizens of India (OCI) who plan to pursue Undergraduate Medical Courses in any foreign medical or dental institute must qualify for NEET (UG).

Counselling and reservation for securing admission to MBBS and BDS course

Admission: All admissions to seats of undergraduate medical and dental courses need to be done through NEET (UG) 2022. These are the seats available for various quotas-

All India quota seats

  • State Government Quota seats
  • Central Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities
  • State/Management/NRI Quota seats in private medical/dental colleges or any private university
  • Central pool quota seats
  • All seats include the NRI quota and the management quota in medical colleges or private institutes that are unaided/aided minority/non-minority.
  • AIIMS Institutes across India or JIPMER.

Counselling

  • All successful candidates will undergo the counselling process for seats under 15% All India Quota and 100%, which includes 85% state quota seats of Central Institutions (ABVIMS and RML Hospital/ VMMC and Safdarjung Hospital/ESIC/ Central Universities, including DU/BHU/AIIMS/AMU/JIPMER and Deemed Universities. And it will be conducted by the MCC/DGHS for Undergraduate Medical/ Dental courses. MCC will only do the registration for AFMC and then forward the data of all registered candidates to the authorities of AFMC for the next step, which is the admission process. BHU or DU and all other universities can use the score for other relevant courses offered by them.
  • Counselling for admissions to the seats that come under the control of various state governments or UT administration or State universities or Institutions will be conducted by the respective authorities of the State Governments according to the notifications explicitly issued by the authorities in question.
  • The result of NEET (UG) 2022 can be utilised by various Central and State government entities as per their eligibility criteria or other norms/ applicable regulations/ guidelines/rules. The data of results can also be utilized for B.Sc. (H) Nursing courses along with their norms/ applicable regulations/ guidelines/rules. Additionally, admission to BVSc and AH courses under the 15% quota of VCI in recognised Veterinary Colleges can also make use of the NEET result. But to access the data of results, the council must approach the MCC of DGHS, MoHFW.

Application Form

Due to the assembly polls and the current COVID-19 situation, the NEET UG 2022 application form will be tentatively available in March 2022, after the Holi festival.

How to fill up NEET 2022 Registration Form

 To fill up the registration form for NEET 2022, candidates must follow these steps-

  • Go to the official website of NEET 2022
  • Click on the tab which shows NEET 2022 registration
  • Read all the instructions properly and click on the confirmation box at the end of the particular page
  • Next, click on ‘proceed to apply online for NEET (UG) 2022
  • A registration form will open up next, which asks for the following details-
  • Name of the candidate
  • Mother’s name
  • Father’s name
  • Category
  • Person with Disability
  • Disability details
  • Date of Birth
  • Gender
  • Nationality
  • State of eligibility (15 per cent All India Quota)
  • Select identification type and number
  • Mobile Number
  • Email Id
  • Security pin
  • Check the details after entering these details
  • Click on Preview and Next
  • Proceed to create a password
  • Answer the security question of your choice
  • Opt for OTP verification
  • A six-digit OTP will be sent to your email id or phone number
  • Enter the OTP and submit the form
  • You will receive a provisional NEET application number which you need to preserve till the admission process is complete.

Admit Card

All admit cards for NEET-UG 2022 are issued provisionally to all the candidates and are subjected to the fulfilment of all eligibility conditions.

Candidates must download the admit card from the NTA website and be present for the exam on the date of the given centre as shown on the admit card.

Candidates will not be allowed to appear for the exam on a date and time other than that mentioned on the admit card.

If any candidate cannot download the admit card, they can call the helpline between 10 am and 5 pm. Or write an email to NTA at neet@nta.ac.in 

All candidates are advised to read through the instructions provided in the Information Bulletin and the admit card to avoid any kind of scrupulous behaviour during the exam.

Result declaration

The NTA evaluates the Answer Sheets with the help of standard procedure, and candidates can check their results displayed on the website- https://neet.nta.in and download their respective scorecards.

The merit list is prepared by the AIR (All India Rank) or merit list by following the qualifying criteria and other rules and regulations of the NMC/DGHS/MCC and the Ministry of AYUSH/NCISM/ CCIM/NCH/CCH/AACCC.
