Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Law

Maharashtra Common Entrance Test also is known as MH CET. It is a state-level entrance examination conducted by the Government of Maharashtra, Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra State, Mumbai. Through the Maharashtra Common Entrance Test Law 2020.

Basic Guidelines

  • Mode of Exam:- The exam will be conducted online (Computer Based Test) mode.
  • Type of Question:- Question paper will be consists of Objective Type Questions.
  • Negative Marking:- There will be no provision of negative marking.
  • Duration of Exam: –The time will be given is 2 hours.
  • A medium of Paper: The question paper will be published in English and in the Marathi language.

Syllabus


Here is the updated Syllabus for the MHCET-Law entrance exam 2020.

For LLB (5 years)

English

  • Vocabulary (Synonyms, Antonyms, Analogies etc)
  • Proficiency (Idioms and phrases, one-word substitutions, sentence improvement, and rearrangement, fill in the blanks etc)
  • English usage errors (common errors, spotting errors, inappropriate usages of words, spelling mistakes etc.)
  • English comprehension with a minimum of two passages followed by 5-10 questions that test reading and reasoning abilities.

Legal Aptitude

  • This section tests the candidate’s interest in the study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability.
  • Questions are framed with the help of legal prepositions and a set of facts to which the said propositions have to be applied. Some prepositions may not be true in the real sense, candidates will have to assume the truth of these prepositions and answer the question.

Logical Reasoning

In this subject, candidates are tested on their ability to identify patterns, logical links and rectify illogical arguments. It includes a wide variety of logical reasoning questions such as syllogisms, logical sequences, analogies etc.

General Knowledge including Current Affairs

In these sections, topics such as History, Geography, General Science, Economics, Civics, Current Affairs of the past year are asked. The subject assesses the knowledge of the candidate in recent happening as well as awareness of the world.

Basic Mathematics

Questions in these sections are from Class 10 and Class 12 levels of various topics including profit and loss, speed and distance, time and work, algebra, average, permutation and combustion, Venn diagrams.

For LLB (3 years)

Legal Aptitude

This section tests the candidate’s interest in the study of law, research aptitude and problem-solving ability. Questions are framed with the help of legal prepositions and a set of facts to which the said propositions have to be applied.
