MH CET Law 2020 Counselling will be started from the third week of July 2020. The exam will be conducted by the State Common Entrance Test Cell every year. Maharashtra Common Entrance Test for Law is organized to offer admission in the law courses. Candidates can get the admission in law courses, such as LLB (3 years) and LLB (Integrated-5 years) after appearing in the counselling session.

The physical presence of the candidate at the counselling is mandatory. The choice of course made by the candidate is final and binding and will not be altered later under any circumstances. If any candidate finds it impossible to be physically present for the MH CET Law Counselling due to unavoidable circumstances, he/she may authorize any other responsible individual to represent him/her at the counselling. This representative must carry with him/her the letter of authorization in the specified format and all the documents mentioned.

Counselling Procedure

The candidates want to appear in the counselling process must follow the steps to successfully complete the Admission Procedure.

  • The candidates need to check their ranking on the basis of Merit List then they need to confirm the counselling dates through online at the official website of the MH CET Law counselling.
  • The candidates those who want to get admission in Law professional studies, they will have to get qualified in the MH CET Law 2020.
  • After the declaration of result candidates will have to check their result and the qualified candidates will have to register themselves through online mode at the official website.
  • After registration candidates need to fill the application form for counselling.
  • The form will be available at the official website, candidates need to fill the choices of colleges and courses as per their preferences and choice.
  • Then candidates have to lock the choices, which was filled by them.
  • After this process, candidates will have to submit the application with the fees required to be paid.
  • Then candidates will be called for the document verification process.
  • Candidates need to appear in the document verification process along with the required documents in original on specified date and time.
  • After this process, candidates will receive the Call Letter for seat allotment by the authority.
  • Candidates have to obtain the call letter of seat allotment from the official website.
  • On the prescribed date and time, candidates must report at the allotted College and be present in person otherwise the attendance will not be considered.
  • The candidates have to carry the documents and admission fees to confirm their seats and admission in the allotted college.

Documents Required

1) Original counselling letter along with the photocopy of counselling letter
2) Original Admit card along with the photocopy of admit card
3) Bank draft has to be made as per the guidelines mentioned on MH CET Law prospect
4) All the original and at least 2 photocopies of certificates of 10th & 12th class
5) Rank Card/Hall Ticket
6) Scorecard (if applicable)
7) Original degree/provisional certificate if the candidate is appearing
8 ) Community certificate(SC/ST/OBC/Other) signed by the authorized authority
9) Medical documents mentioned in the MH CET Law application form.
10) 4-6 Passport size photographs colour and black and white
11) Other supportive documents mentioned in the MH CET Law application form.

How to register for MHCET Law Counselling 2020?

Candidates required to register online on the official website of DHE Maharastra:

  1. Candidates require to visit the official website – http://cetcell.mahacet.org/
  2. Register as a new candidate through filling the required details for MH CET Law counselling process
  3. Once registered, log in again to fill the choice of colleges from the given list as per your preference and pay the counselling fee Rs. 5000/-
  4. Provisional allotment list is published by the examination authority on the official website based on the preferences given by candidates

CAP Rounds Details

CAP Round I

  • Candidates shortlisted as per the final merit list have to appear for CAP round 1
  • They need to fill option form, mark their preferred colleges, and accept colleges after allotment list is published
  • Once, the seat is frozen on acceptance, the candidate will no longer be able to participate in next round
  • Candidates accepting the seat allotted to them have to report to the allotted colleges
  •  Candidates who do not want to accept the allotted seat have to exercise float option and in such cases, they will be eligible to participate in next round for better seat allotment

CAP Round II

  • Freshly registered candidates will be allotted seat in this round
  • Candidates from the first-round can participate in this round for better seat allotment option
  • Candidates who did not accept the seat in the first round will be allotted seat in this round
  • Those participating in this round for upgrading their seats (as allotted and accepted in CAP I) won’t be able to participate in next round

CAP Round III

  • Candidates filling fresh option form as well as editing their options will be allotted seats in this round

Option Entry Process

During the counselling process, applicants before accepting their seats have the option to ‘Freeze’ or ‘Float’ their choices.
Float option – If candidates are not satisfied with the allotted colleges, they can choose the ‘Float’ option. Candidates exercising this option are eligible for appearing in the subsequent counselling rounds. In case they are not offered seats, they can choose the previously allotted college.

Freeze option – Candidates can exercise ‘Freeze’ option to confirm their allotment and if they do not want to participate in the further counselling rounds. They will accept the allotted college and pay the admission fee. Such candidates will not be considered for further counselling rounds.
