Eligibility to attend Counselling

Only those applicant are eligible to attend the NEET MDS Counselling 2020 who has successfully qualified the NEET MDS 2020 exam. To qualify the exam the candidate requires to obtain equal or more than NEET MDS cut offset by the DCI (Dental Council of India). Counselling Process

Counselling Fees

The NEET MDS Counselling 2020 fees have two categories refundable and non-refundable. Refer the following table to know the fee details.

Documents Required

The applicants who are allocated a seat through the NEET MDS 2020 counselling must report to the allotted institute for confirmation of the documents. For confirmation of the seat allocated, the candidate must carry the following documents.

  • NEET MDS result
  • NEET MDS admit card
  • BDS degree certificate
  • BDS mark sheets
  • Internship Completion Certificate (mentioned that the candidate has completed his/ her internship on or before 31st March 2020)
  • Registration Certificate from the Dental Council of India (DCI) or State Dental Council (SDC)
  • Birth Certificate or Class X mark sheet
  • Photo Id proof (PAN card/ Driving Licence/ Voter ID/ Aadhaar card/ Passport)
  • Caste Certificate (SC/ ST/ OBC – if applicable)
  • Disability Certificate issued by the medical board (if applicable)

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

Q. Will NEET MDS counselling be conducted in offline mode?

A. No, the whole counselling process of NEET MDS 2020 will be conducted in online mode. The counselling including registration, choice filling and locking, seat allotment process and the announcement of result will be done in online mode only.

Q. How many choices can I fill during the counselling?

A. There is no boundation, A candidate can fill any number of choices they wish to. However, it must be ensured that the choices filled must be in the order of their preference.

Q. If a candidate is not allotted any seat in the second round of counselling, then will the seat allotted in first-round get cancelled?

A. No, the seat allotted in the first round of NEET MDS counselling will not be cancelled. If any candidate will not be allotted seat in the second round, then the seat allotted in round one will be considered final.

Q. Will a candidate get any seat allotted if he/she has not locked the preferences?

A. In order to participate for counselling, aspirants need to register. Also, they need to fill their choices and lock it. However, if they have not locked the preferences, then the filled in choices will get locked automatically and considered as the final one.

Q. How many seats are in NEET MDS?

A. The entrance test will be conducted for 6,228 seats offered in various dental colleges in India.

Q. What is passing marks for NEET?

A. For an MBBS seat, you need just 5% in physics, 20% in biology. A score of 180 out of 720 is the minimum mark a student would get if they got 40% of the answers right, even if they got all the rest wrong, with the negative marking scheme in place in NEET. Of course, 40% is the pass percentage for most exams.

Q. How many attempts we can give for NEET MDS exam?

A. According to General/OBC candidates were able to attempt only 3 times for NEET examination up to the age of 25 years while SC/ST could attempt same (3 times) up to the age of 30 years.

Q. How many years is MDS?

A. Three years, The duration of Master of Dental Surgery is generally three years, however, there is a provision of two years M.D.S. Course for candidates who have passed Post Graduate Diploma course recognized by the DCI of the duration of two years speciality.

Q. Is Neet necessary for MDS?

A. To pursue the Master of Dental Surgery (MDS) courses in India, one must qualify the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for MDS (NEET MDS) exam. From all the government dental colleges, 50% seats will be reserved for AIQ candidates, while the remaining 85% seats will be available for state quota seats.
