Students enrolled in medical colleges offline face cancellation threat; NMC verifying 1,04,891 admissions!

Students enrolled in medical colleges offline face cancellation threat; For the academic year 2023–24, the National Medical Commission (NMC) is reviewing the admissions procedure for 1,04,891 students registered in medical colleges. Students admitted through offline methods during stray vacancy rounds may risk having their admissions revoked while the NMC verifies them.

According to the official notification, even though these students’ names appear on the final list of 1,04,891 MBBS admissions for the designated academic year, there is a chance that the admission procedure will be subsequently cancelled after the NMC has finished verifying it.

The commission has mandated unequivocally that state or central counselling agencies undertake all online counselling rounds for each seat. It is forbidden for medical colleges or other institutions to admit applicants on their own.

Furthermore, new guidelines for post-graduate medical admissions have been published by the NMC. These laws emphasize that admissions will only be made through common counselling based on the merit lists of the relevant tests. In addition, research methods, ethics, and cardiac life support skills are obligatory courses for all students.

The NMC has incorporated penalty clauses, which include monetary fines, reductions in admission capacity, or entire halting of admissions, to guarantee adherence to these standards.
Medical colleges must disclose the costs of each course before the start of the counselling process. No medical institution has the right to independently admit applicants, which emphasizes the importance of following the recommended procedures.
