NTA will Start CUET UG 2024 Registration Soon: The National Testing Agency (NTA) is anticipated to commence the registration process for the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) 2024 by February 27. Scheduled between May 15 and May 31, 2024, the NTA will administer the CUET UG 2024 exam, expected to adopt a hybrid mode this year.
To accommodate candidates, particularly those from rural areas, the CUET 2024 exam will utilize OMR sheets. Applicants are now allowed to select up to 6 subjects, a reduction from the previous limit of 10. They can opt for either 4 domain papers, 1 language paper, and 1 general test paper, or 3 domain papers, 2 language papers, and 1 general test paper.
In an effort to streamline the process and minimize exam days, the CUET 2024 exam is likely to be conducted in a single shift. The NTA will organize the exam in three shifts: morning, afternoon, and evening. The duration for slot 1 is 120 minutes, while slots 2 and 3 are allocated 90 minutes each. The exam will comprise four sections, each containing 50 questions.

The CUET 2024 exam will be held to offer admissions for UG programmes in the participating universities across India. Last year, a total of 13.95 lakh students registered for CUET UG. Among them, 6.51 lakh were female candidates and 7.48 lakh were male candidates.

CUET 2024 slot timings
The CUET 2024 exam will be held in three slots – morning, afternoon, and evening. The duration and timings of the CUET exam 2024 slots are given below:
- Slot I – 9:00 am to 11:00 am
- Slot II – 12:30 pm to 2 pm
- Slot III – 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm
CUET 2024: Major changes in the exam
- The NTA is likely to conduct the CUET 2024 exam in hybrid mode for the subjects with more than 1.5 lakh registrations in the past, now the exam will be conducted in OMR sheets.
- The CUET 2024 exam is likely to be held in a single shift. This means the normalisation process will not be required to calculate the scores.
- The number of papers a candidate can attempt has been reduced to six. So, now the students can choose 4 domain papers, 1 language paper, and 1 general test paper, or 3 domain papers, 2 language papers, and 1 general test paper
