Renew Blood Bank License Or Pay Rs 6 Lakh Penalty For Non-Compliance: NMC Warns Medinirai

NMC Warns Medinirai Medical College Hospital: The Medinirai Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in Daltonganj is now under scrutiny by the National Medical Commission (NMC) as the license for its blood bank expired on September 30, 2020. The Apex Medical Education Regulatory Body has instructed the institute to renew the license by July 10, warning of a Rs 6 lakh penalty for non-compliance.

The Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO), operating under the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, issues this license through its state unit.

According to a recent report by the Times of India, during a meeting with MMCH Principal Dr. Kamender Prasad on May 10, the NMC emphasized the urgency of renewing the blood bank’s license. In response, Dr. Prasad informed the Commission that the college was actively addressing the issue with the Palamu drug inspector, Chandan Kachchap.
