Admission Procedure

VIT Group of Institutions offers 64 Undergraduate, 35 Postgraduate, 16 Integrated, and 2 Research proVIT Group of Institutions offer 66 Undergraduate, 58 Postgraduate, 15 Integrated Programmes, 2 Research programmes and 2 M.Tech Industrial Programmes. • Selection is based on the rank secured through CBT (Computer Based Test).
• Selected candidates will be called for online counselling based on their ranking.
• Eligible Candidates may select a specific campus and programme during the Counselling.
• After payment of full fees classes will be conducted online / reported in person to the Institution.
• Candidates are expected to prove their genuineness in joining.

Undergraduate Admissions

• There is no entrance examination.
• Notification will be provided on our website on issuing of the application
• A qualified UCEED (Undergraduate Common Entrance Examination for Design) score is mandatory for admission
• A merit list will be prepared on the basis of 10+2 marks and a Valid UCEED score
• The shortlisted applicants will be called for counselling (virtual or physical)
• The fact that a candidate has qualified and has been called for counselling does not guarantee admission to him/her. This depends upon the performance in the Interview/Skill Test and the availability of seats
• The final list will be prepared based on the performance in the Interview/Skill Test at the time of counselling
• The number of seats and the mode of selection is purely at the discretion of the Management

Postgraduate Admissions

• Applications are processed in the order of merit, based on the aggregate of marks (rounded to 2 decimal points) secured in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics in the +2 / Higher Secondary Examination.
• In case the aggregate is the same, the order of merit will be decided based on the best scores in Mathematics, Physics, and Chemistry sequentially, also based on total obtained scores in all subjects and in case of a tie, the age i.e. older applicants are given priority.
• After the declaration of results applicants can give their campus and program preferences, (i.e., applicants can give “n” number of choices)
• Seats will be allotted based on Rank, Preference of Campus, and Programme (Subject to availability).
• Allotment of seats for a programme and campus once made is final and cannot be changed under any circumstances.
• One seat will be confirmed applicants will receive their Provisional Admission Letter to pay their Advance Tuition Fees (Rs.50,000/-) through online mode on or before 04.07.2024 and
• Applicants can pay their Balance Tuition Fees through online mode on or before 11.07.2024.
• The Commencement of classes will be announced later through the mail.

Research Admissions

PhD

• Selection based on the performance in the VITREE 2024 score, PG Degree marks, Research proposal and Interview. Candidates, who fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed, shall appear for VITREE 2024, a computer-based test (CBT) for 2 hours on 4th & 5th June 2024 at their test venue of Campus of choice. Change of Venue Campus, date of Interview or program will not be permitted. The question paper will have 100 MCQs (Technical – 70 questions; English communication skills – 15 questions; Statistics and probability – 15 questions).
• The shortlisted candidates should appear for personal interviews through online mode on 11th & 12th June 2024. The selected candidates will be intimated by 22nd June 2024.

Integrated PhD

• Selection based on the performance in the VITREE 2024 score, UG Degree marks, Research proposal and Personal Interview through online mode. Candidates, who fulfil the eligibility criteria prescribed, shall appear for VITREE 2024, a computer-based test (CBT) for 2 hours on 4th & 5th June 2024 at their test venue of Campus of choice. Change of Venue Campus, date of Interview or program will not be permitted. Application Stages

Step 1 – New user Registration	The valid e-mail address and active mobile number. Enter all the relevant details carefully. An OTP will be sent to your Registered Indian Mobile Number for verification. Once OTP is validated, a password will be sent to your registered email address. All the correspondence shall be made to the registered email address and mobile number only.
Step 2 – Sign in for registered users	Login with the registered email address and the password received from VIT.
Step 3 – Filling Online application form	Fill in the relevant fields carefully. An Application Number will be generated after filling in primary details. Refer to this application number in all your future correspondence.
Step 4 – Payment	Valid Net Banking Account/ Credit/ Debit Card or Paytm Account. Online Web browser: Rs.1250 For Abroad test centre: Equivalent to USD 50 in INR Application cost is non-refundable
Step 5 – Photo & Signature Upload	After payment, a softcopy of your photo and signature should be uploaded. Scanned files (.jpg format) of your photo (3.5 cm width x 4.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size) and signature (3.5 cm width x 1.5 cm height; 10-200 kB size)
Step 6 – Download the filled-in application form	Download and save the filled-in application for your reference and further correspondence. Applicants NEED NOT SEND a hard copy of the filled-in Application Form to VIT.

Under Graduate Eligibility

Nationality	*The applicant should be a Resident / Non-Resident Indian National / PIO. *Foreign Candidates studied/studying abroad can apply directly through the foreign category only at https://admissions.vit.ac.in/ugirapplication/
Age Limit	*Candidates whose date of birth falls on or after 1st July 2000 are eligible to apply for UG Engineering admission (UGEA) 2024. The date of birth as recorded in the High School / SSC / X Certificate will be considered authentic. Candidates should produce this certificate in original as proof of their age at the time of counselling/admission, failing which they will be disqualified.
Qualifying Examination	Candidates applying for UG Engineering admission should have either completed or shall be appearing in 2024, in any one of the following qualifying examinations: *The final examination of the 10+2 system of Higher Secondary Examination is conducted by the State Board; Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE, New Delhi), and The Council for Indian School Certificate Examination (ISCE), New Delhi. *Intermediate or Two-year Pre-University Examination conducted by a recognized Board/ University. *High School Certificate Examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva. *General Certificate Education (GCE) examination (London/Cambridge/Srilanka) at the Advanced (A) level. *As per VIT Norms, Regular ‘NIOS’ board candidates are also eligible for Undergraduate Engineering programmes. Applicants should produce the Migration Cum Transfer Certificate at the time of joining. *They should also provide the marks secured in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Total (including all subjects) and upload the scanned copy of the mark list and other relevant documents whenever available on the application form. *For Indian nationals/ NRI/ PIO cardholders, appearance in VITEEE-22 is mandatory to be eligible for B. Tech. admission under regular mode (Applicants under International/NRI quota exempted). In case VITEEE gets cancelled due to natural calamities, qualifying criteria may be substituted with higher secondary marks or JEE-22 or a valid SAT. Applicants will be informed with specifics in such cases.
Eligibility Criteria For The Qualifying Examination	*Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2024 should have secured a minimum aggregate of 55% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate). *Candidates applying for the Undergraduate Engineering admission in 2024 should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics/Biology in the qualifying examination (+2/Intermediate) for the following categories: #Candidates belonging to SC/ST #Candidates hailing from Jammu and Kashmir/ Ladakh and the North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura. CERTIFICATE TO PROVE COMMUNITY / NATIVITY should be produced at the time of counselling, failing which they will not be considered for admission.
Subject Eligibility	*Candidates having studied Mathematics/Physics/Chemistry in +2 / Higher Secondary Board are eligible for all the B.Tech. Programmes *Candidates having studied Biology/Physics/Chemistry in +2/ Higher Secondary Board are eligible for the following Bio stream programmes only. Post Graduate Eligibility

• A minimum of 60% mark or First class is required in any Under Graduate or Integrated degree from a recognized University or Institution.
• The qualification criteria are relaxed by 10% in UG degree for applicants belonging to SC / ST and applicants hailing from Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh and the North-Eastern states of Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Sikkim and Tripura.
• A Bachelor’s degree should be of a minimum of three years duration after completion of higher secondary education (10+2) or equivalent.
• The candidate should have studied in regular full-time programmes. Applicants from Open University / Distance mode / Correspondence mode are not eligible to apply.
• The candidates appearing for the final year examination in 2024, whose results will be published before 15^th, August 2024, are also eligible to apply.
• Selection will be based on best score secured in VITBEE-2024 or valid Aptitude test score of CAT / XAT / MAT / NMAT / GMAT / CMAT / ATMA.
• The candidates who have appeared or are to be appearing in CAT / XAT / MAT / NMAT / GMAT / CMAT / ATMA can also apply.

PhD Eligibility

For PhD in Engineering	1. Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology in the relevant discipline with a first-class or a minimum of 60% marks/CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where the University/Institute does not award any class  or 2. Equivalent qualifications like M.Sc. (Engineering) / M.S. [By Research.] / M.Tech [By Research].
For PhD in Sciences	Master’s degree in the relevant discipline of Science with a first-class (or a minimum of 60%  marks/CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where the University/ Institute does not award any class).
For PhD in Languages	Master’s degree with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA
For PhD in Management	Master in Business Administration / CA / ICWA with a first-class or a minimum of 60% marks/CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where the University/Institute does not award any class.
For PhD in Law	Master’s Degree in law (LLM/ML) from any recognized University/Institute, in the relevant field with a minimum of 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA.
For PhD in Fashion Technology	M.Tech./M.E./M.Fashion Tech/M.S.[By Research]/M.Tech[By Research] in the field of Textile/Textile Engineering/Fibre Science/Textile Chemical Processing/Fashion/Apparel/Garment with a first-class or a minimum of 60% marks/CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale in cases where the University/Institute does not award any class.
For PhD in Design & Planning	Master’s in Design / Planning, M.Tech, M.E., MSc (Physiology), any master’s degree in Arts, Media Studies, Multimedia & Animation in full time or regular mode of education with 60% marks or CGPA 6.5 on a 10 point scale.
