720 Marks in NEET 2025 is Impossible; Experts Reveal Shocking Data

Experts believe scoring a perfect 720 in NEET 2025 is nearly impossible due to the exam's high difficulty level.

The National Testing Agency (NTA) conducted the NEET UG 2025 exam on May 4, 2025. As the results are expected by June 14, debates have resurfaced about whether students can score a perfect 720 out of 720 marks in such a challenging exam.

Following the controversial NEET 2024 results, where several candidates scored full marks, the medical community now finds itself divided over the possibility of achieving a perfect score in NEET 2025.

NEET 2025 Considered One of the Toughest Papers Since 2016

This year, NEET UG 2025 has been widely regarded as one of the toughest exams since 2016. Many experts have compared its difficulty, especially the Physics section, to the JEE Advanced level. Students also reported that the Biology and Chemistry sections were unusually lengthy, leaving many unable to complete the paper on time.

Several leading coaching institutes and student reviews confirmed that the paper was mostly difficult. Unlike previous years, this time the paper had fewer straightforward NCERT-based questions and included more analytical and numerical problems. This shift demanded deeper conceptual clarity and better time management, making it harder for students to finish all questions within the allotted time.

Expert Opinions: Perfect Score Unlikely in NEET 2025

Dr Aviral Mathur, President of the Federation of Resident Doctors Association (FORDA), commented on the exam’s difficulty:

“The paper was not easy at all. Unlike last year’s controversy around high scores, this time it feels like the exam setters included multiple tough and controversial questions deliberately. It’s highly unlikely anyone will score 720 this year. However, students should not feel discouraged—relative ranks still matter the most.”

Dr Vinod, President of the Doctor Welfare Association, echoed similar concerns.

“Scoring a perfect 720 in NEET 2025 is practically impossible. The paper, especially Physics, felt like JEE Advanced level. This level of difficulty makes it extremely hard to achieve full marks.”

Dr Rohan Krishnan, Patron of the Federation of All India Medical Association, also addressed the growing concerns:

“Given the tough question patterns this year, achieving a perfect 720 is nearly impossible. While student preparation and competition are increasing, the difficulty level of NEET 2025 makes such scores highly unlikely.”

Why Scoring 720 in NEET 2025 Is So Difficult

Dr Lakshya, from the United Doctor Front, shared further insight:

“Getting a perfect 720 is extremely rare, even though it’s theoretically possible. NEET 2025 demanded not only strong academic preparation but also excellent time management, psychological stability, and a flawless performance. Even a small mistake can cost marks, especially with tricky multiple-choice options.”

What’s Next?

NTA will declare the NEET UG 2025 results by June 14, 2025, along with the list of toppers. The results will reveal how many students performed well and whether anyone managed to achieve the perfect score of 720.

While experts believe that scoring full marks this year is highly unlikely, the focus remains on relative performance and rank, which will ultimately decide students’ chances at top medical colleges.
