After NEET 2025 Success Uttar Pradesh Govt Expands Abhyudaya Scheme to Block-Level Free Coaching

Uttar Pradesh to launch block-level free coaching under the Abhyudaya Scheme after impressive NEET and UPSC results by rural students.

In response to the outstanding success of its students in national-level exams, the Uttar Pradesh government has decided to expand its Abhyudaya Free Coaching Scheme to the block level. This initiative aims to help more students from rural and underprivileged backgrounds prepare for competitive exams without having to leave their hometowns.

This year, 81 students from the scheme cleared NEET, while 13 qualified for the UPSC Civil Services Exam. Motivated by these results, the state is developing a plan to extend the coaching model beyond district headquarters and closer to students in rural villages.

Free Coaching Coming Closer to Villages

Many students, especially girls from remote areas, struggle to attend coaching due to distance, financial limitations, and family concerns. To tackle this, local authorities have been directed to identify spaces in block areas where physical classes can be held.

A hybrid teaching model will be used:

  • Offline classes will be conducted by retired teachers and local officials.
  • Online classes will be handled by experienced educators and civil servants.

The curriculum will follow structured study material prepared by the core Abhyudaya centres in each district to ensure high-quality and uniform learning.

What is the Abhyudaya Scheme?

Launched in 2021, the Abhyudaya Coaching Scheme offers free coaching for competitive exams like NEET, JEE, UPSC, UPPCS, SSC, Police recruitment, and others. Currently, the scheme runs 166 coaching centres across all 75 districts of the state. So far:

  • 23,017 students have enrolled for the 2024–25 session.
  • 1,783 teachers have been empanelled.
  • Over 82,000 students have benefited since launch.
  • The state government allocated ₹30 crore for the current year, with ₹24.64 crore already spent.

The program is managed by a dedicated team in Lucknow, led by Social Welfare Director Kumar Prashant, ensuring transparency and consistent quality.

Abhyudaya’s Impressive Track Record

Since its inception, the scheme has delivered outstanding results:

  • 59 students cleared the UPSC Civil Services Exam.
  • 121 qualified for the UPPCS.
  • 167 cleared NEET, and 35 succeeded in JEE.

In the current academic year:

  • More than 50 students have cleared BPSC Prelims with Abhyudaya’s support.

The Road Ahead

The state aims to scale up this initiative by setting up block-level coaching centres, ensuring that deserving students in every corner of Uttar Pradesh get the opportunity to pursue their academic and career goals, free of cost, close to home, and with quality guidance.
