Bihar Doctor Among 2 Arrested in NEET UG 2025

The Bihar Police has arrested a doctor and his associate for allegedly conducting fake NEET-UG 2025 exam.

Patna: Police in Samastipur, Bihar have arrested two people, including a government doctor, for allegedly helping students cheat in the NEET-UG 2025 exam. Those arrested include Dr Ranjit Kumar (currently on leave) lodged in Begusarai jail and Ram Babu Malik, a former employee of Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital.

Police say Dr Ranjeet took money from students who were weak in academics and made bright students (mostly MBBS students) appear in the exam in their place. He charged Rs 8 to 10 lakh for each case and paid Rs 2.5 to 5 lakh to the cheaters who appeared in the exam.

The police found six admit cards from Dr Ranjit’s phone. After receiving information, they caught him and Ram Babu near an examination centre at Mohanpur Bridge. They also recovered Rs 50,000 in cash, three phones and a car registered in Ram Babu’s name. Both confessed to their crime and were sent to jail for 14 days.
