The Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (BCECEB) has issued an important notification regarding the Under Graduate Medical Admission Counselling (UGMAC) 2025 for MBBS, BDS, and B.V.Sc. & A.H. courses in government and private medical, dental, and veterinary colleges of the state.
According to the notification, as per the Health Department letter No. 734(1) dated July 29, 2025, the counselling process for 50% state quota seats in private medical colleges, along with state medical colleges, was scheduled to begin with the registration and submission of the application form-cum-choice filling. This was to be conducted under the prescribed fee and process guidelines.
However, the order concerning 50% state quota seats in private medical colleges was challenged in the Hon’ble Patna High Court. The court, in its hearing on August 5, 2025, has stayed the Health Department’s order until further notice. As a result, BCECEB has temporarily stopped the registration and choice-filling process for UGMAC 2025 until a final decision is made.
