New Delhi: Karnataka Minister for Medical Education Sharan Prakash Patil on Saturday confirmed that there will be no increase in the fee structure for medical and dental courses for the academic year 2025–26, despite pressure from private institutions.
The announcement came following a meeting between the minister and office-bearers of private medical and dental college managements. In an official statement, Patil’s office revealed that private colleges had proposed a fee hike of 10 to 15 percent.
However, the minister firmly rejected the request, stating that the government had already permitted a 10 percent increase in the previous academic year. “Last year’s hike was sufficient, and there will be no fee hike this year,” he said.
