Sangli, Maharashtra: A shocking incident has emerged from Sangli district in Maharashtra, where a school principal allegedly beat his 17-year-old daughter to death after she scored low marks in a NEET mock test. The girl, Sadhana Bhosale, was a Class 12 student and had dreams of becoming a doctor.
What Happened?
According to the police, the accused, Dhoondiram Bhosale, is a principal at a private school. Sadhana had recently taken a NEET mock exam, and her low marks reportedly enraged her father. On Friday night, during a discussion about her scores, Sadhana reportedly said, “Papa, are you some collector?” This remark infuriated her father so much that he attacked her with a stick.
She suffered severe injuries to her head and collapsed. Instead of taking her to the hospital immediately, the father allegedly left for school the next morning to participate in Yoga Day celebrations.

She Died Before Treatment Could Help
When he returned home and found her unconscious, she was rushed to Ushakal Hospital in Sangli. Unfortunately, she succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Friday.
Sadhana was a bright student, scoring 92.60% in her Class 10 board exams and had been preparing for NEET for a year.
FIR Filed by Mother; Father Confesses
Sadhana’s mother filed a police complaint on June 22. Based on her statement, the father was arrested. He has reportedly confessed to beating his daughter out of anger due to her poor test performance. The accused is currently in police custody until June 24.
Post-Mortem Confirms Severe Injuries
A post-mortem report confirmed that the cause of death was due to multiple deep injuries. Sangli Police’s senior inspector Vinay Bahir stated that although she was taken to the hospital, the injuries were too severe to save her life.
