NEET 2025 Passing Marks for MBBS; Minimum Qualifying Score out of 720

NTA has set the NEET 2025 total marks at 720, with 360 for Biology, 180 for Physics, and 180 for Chemistry. Candidates must meet the specified passing marks to qualify.

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will hold the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET UG) 2025 on May 4 in pen-and-paper mode to select candidates for undergraduate medical programs for the 2025-26 academic session. The agency also clarified that NEET UG 2025 scores will determine admissions for Bachelor of Dental Studies (BDS) and Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (BVSc and AH) courses.

Revising the NEET UG 2025 exam pattern, the testing agency has removed the optional questions from Section B. Now, the NEET UG 2025 question paper will feature 180 multiple-choice questions. The physics and chemistry sections will each have 45 questions, while the biology section will include 90 questions. Each section will carry 180 marks, making the total exam score 720 marks, as in previous years. The NEET UG 2025 marking scheme remains unchanged. Students will earn four marks for each correct answer and lose one mark for each incorrect response. They will not receive any marks for unanswered or unattempted questions.

    • Hey! To secure MBBS seat in a government medical college, you must aim for 600+ for the general category, while for OBC/SC/ST categories, 500-550+ is generally safe, but this varies state-wise and depends on seat availability.
