The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially removed 10 seats from the seat matrix for Round 3 of the National Eligibility Entrance Test – Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2024 counselling. This decision follows updates provided by the Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (PGIMS) in Navi Mumbai, which reduced seats across four specialties, impacting the open, backward class, scheduled caste, and scheduled tribe categories.

Details of Withdrawn Seats

The withdrawn seats include the following specialties:

  • MD (General Medicine): 1 seat
  • MS (General Surgery): 2 seats
  • MD/MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology): 4 seats
  • MS (Orthopaedics): 1 seat
  • MD (Paediatrics): 2 seats

These changes will be reflected in the updated seat matrix before the Round 3 allotment process begins.

Previous Seat Adjustments

On January 17, the MCC had already made significant adjustments to the seat matrix for NEET PG Counselling 2024 Round 3, removing 23 seats while adding 12 new ones. The current reduction of 10 seats from PGIMS includes the largest cuts in MD/MS (Obstetrics and Gynaecology) and MD (General Medicine), which account for 6 of the withdrawn seats.

The MCC’s decision ensures the accuracy and transparency of the counselling process, with affected candidates advised to review the updated seat matrix for further planning.
