NEET UG 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has declared the NEET UG 2025 result today. Along with results, NTA has also published a report on different metrics like gender-wise performance of students in the NEET UG 2025 exam. The most shocking news is that only 15 girls are in the top 100 rank.
NEET UG 2025: Key Highlights
Total Registered Candidates | 22,76,069 |
Total Appeared | 22,09,318 |
Total Qualified | 12,36,531 |
Overall Pass Percentage | 55.96% |

Only 15 Girls in Top 100 Ranks
As per the official NTA report, only 15 girls have managed to secure a spot among the top 100 all-India ranks, raising question about gender disparity in NEET UG exams.
Since the overall pass percentage of female candidates is much better than that male counterparts, this raises questions about under representation of female students in the toppers’ list.

This is a sharp contrast to the past three years, where female candidates consistently held around 25-30% of the top 100 ranks. For example last year there were 26 girl student in top 100 in NEET 2024 exam.
While girls had a higher overall pass percentage, their representation in the top ranks remains disproportionately low, indicating possible barriers in cracking high-ranking zones despite qualifying in larger numbers.
Gender-Wise Performance in NEET UG 2025
The data shows a clear dominance of female candidates in qualification rates for the second consecutive year:
Category | Registered | Appeared | Qualified |
Male | 9,65,996 | 9,37,411 | 5,14,063 |
Female | 13,10,062 | 12,71,896 | 7,22,462 |
Third Gender | 11 | 11 | 6 |
Total | 22,76,069 | 22,09,318 | 12,36,531 |
This means that female candidates formed 58.45% of all qualified students, while male candidates accounted for 41.55%.
In comparison, last year (NEET UG 2024), the female dominance trend had also been seen:
Category | Registered | Appeared | Qualified |
Male | 10,29,198 | 9,98,205 | 5,46,566 |
Female | 13,76,863 | 13,34,940 | 7,69,277 |
Third Gender | 18 | 17 | 10 |
Total | 24,06,079 | 23,33,162 | 13,15,853 |
While the overall number of registered candidates slightly decreased in 2025 compared to 2024, the female qualification success remains consistent.
