New Delhi: The NEET UG 2025 exam was conducted nationwide on May 4, 2025, and ever since, lakhs of aspirants have been eagerly awaiting the result. While the official answer key has already been released, the declaration of the result was delayed due to court-imposed restrictions following multiple student petitions. However, the Madras High Court has now dismissed all such petitions, clearing the way for the National Testing Agency (NTA) to announce the result.
Result Stay Lifted by Madras High Court
The delay in result declaration stemmed from petitions filed by students at two major exam centres where power outages occurred during the exam on May 4. As a result, candidates had approached both the Madras High Court and the Indore High Court, seeking a re-exam or cancellation of results for the affected centres.
However, in a significant development, the Madras High Court has rejected all the petitions and permitted the NTA to go ahead with the result declaration. According to sources, the result is likely to be released by June 14, although the agency now holds the liberty to release it at any time before that.

Court Terms Petitions Baseless
The court stated that temporary power outages do not constitute a valid ground for re-examination or delaying results for lakhs of students. Highlighting that over 22 lakh candidates appeared for NEET UG 2025, the court emphasised that the aspirations of such a large number of students cannot be put on hold due to localised incidents affecting only a few.
