The National Medical Commission (NMC) has approved an increase of 100 MBBS seats across two medical colleges in Gujarat. The approval includes 50 additional seats each at GCS Medical College, Ahmedabad and Swaminarayan Institute of Medical Sciences & Research, Kalol, Gandhinagar.
Revised MBBS Intake Details
According to the latest notification, both colleges will now have their MBBS intake increased from 150 to 200 seats. The seat distribution for the newly added intake is as follows:
- Government Quota Seats: 38
- Management Quota Seats: 5
- NRI Seats: 7
The notification further mentions that “these seat allotments are subject to the receipt of the Letter of Permission issued by the NMC within the stipulated time limit.”

Choice Filling Extended
Owing to this increase in the number of MBBS seats, the choice filling window for the third round of MBBS/BDS admissions has been extended until October 18, 2025, at 10:00 AM. Candidates participating in Round 3 are advised to review the updated seat matrix and revise their choices accordingly.
