Srinagar, October 14, 2025: Jammu & Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) has declared the holding of the third round of J&K NEET UG 2025 counselling for MBBS and BDS programs.
Between October 15 (4 PM) and October 17, 2025 (midnight), all public and private medical and dental schools in the Union Territory, including SMVDIME and ASCOMS, will go through an online upgrade and allocation process.
This Round’s Objective
The seats left empty after the previous rounds as a result of non-joining, resignation, or surrender of seat will be filled in this third round. It also involves shortfall and extra seats from the government and private sectors.

Who Can Apply for 3rd Round
The following applicants are eligible to apply for the third round of counseling, according to BOPEE:
- Candidates who have already been accepted but are seeking advancement.
- Applicants who have not yet received a seat assignment.
- Previous allottee candidates who were given seats but couldn’t report due to incomplete documentation, non-payment of fees, or delayed reporting.
- Students who relinquished their earlier seat.
- New NEET UG 2025 pass-out candidates who enrolled with BOPEE but didn’t appear in the earlier rounds (they need to pay ₹1500 online).
- Candidates who have already paid the counselling fee in earlier rounds do not need to pay again.
- Candidates newly registered or category changed under Notifications No. 130 and 139-BOPEE are also considered eligible.

Vacancy and Allotment Rules
Only vacant seats shall be filled within their respective categories. Seats falling vacant by Open Merit (OM) candidates will still be in OM, and category seats will still be in their categories. Upgraded seats will be reallotted simultaneously on merit-cum-preference basis.

BOPEE made it clear that just filling online choices will not ensure admission until eligibility is checked by the concerned colleges.

Conclusion
Due eligible candidates are requested to take active participation in the 3rd round within the notified schedule and remain updated through the official website for future notifications, including those for Management and NRI Quota counselling.
