In a major crackdown on irregularities, the Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET Cell) has disqualified 220 aspirants from the ongoing NEET UG 2025 counselling process for MBBS and BDS admissions. The action follows the discovery of fake or missing documents uploaded by candidates during the verification process.
According to the CET Cell, out of the 220 disqualified candidates:
- 171 candidates were found to have uploaded forged or fake certificates.
- 108 students failed to upload the required documents even after being notified.
- Only one candidate among those flagged for fake documents re-uploaded valid certificates within the given time.
These candidates have been permanently barred from the current and upcoming counselling rounds, ensuring that only genuine applicants move forward in the admission process.

Significance of the Action

For genuine candidates, this step helps ensure that admissions are fair and merit-based, with deserving students gaining rightful access to medical education opportunities.
