Penalty for MBBS/BDS Seat Lapse

Information regarding the penalty for missing an MBBS/BDS seat in Government/Government-aided/Corporation Medical/Dental Colleges is given below:

The Government of Maharashtra has established a State Common Entrance Test Cell (CET CELL) under the Admission Regulating Authority (ARA) as per the provisions in Section 10 of the Maharashtra Unaided Private Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admissions and Fees) Act, 2015 (From now on called the Act).

info.mahacet.org Online Application Form Filling Process

The online form submission process is available on medical2026.mahacet.org (linked from cetcell.mahacet.org). The ‘Apply Online for NEET-UG 2026’ link will be available on the portal:

(a) The application form link will be displayed. Click on the Application Form link.

(b) The instruction page will be displayed. Carefully read the Instructions for filling out the online form (Annexure “A”). After reading the instructions, click the NEXT button to proceed to the actual Online Application Form.

(c) The candidate should fill in all the entries in the application form, including an active mobile number and email address, and verify both via OTP.

(d) The system will validate all required fields before allowing submission.

(e) Before submitting the Application Form, the candidate should carefully read the conditions given under “Declaration by the Candidate” and agree to them before proceeding.

(f) During submission, the system will ask for a “Password” to be set/entered by the candidate.

(g) Eligible candidates will then be able to submit the form. The candidate should verify the correctness of all entries before clicking Submit. Changes can be made before submission; there is no provision to edit the form once Submit is clicked.

(h) After submitting the form, the candidate must pay the Non-Refundable online registration fee – ₹800 (General) or ₹600 (Reserved category) – through the payment gateway provided.

(i) The candidate should take a printout of the online fee payment receipt.

(j) A ‘Log In’ link will be available on the portal to verify the application form.

(k) The candidate should log in using the Application No. (username) and their unique password to download a printout of the Application Form, and preserve it for subsequent use.

(l) Applicants need not send a physical copy of the Application Form or any document to the CET Cell office.

(m) If a candidate makes an error while filling out the online form, the CET Cell office cannot correct it and takes no responsibility for such applications.

Candidates should preserve: Receipt of online fee payment, a copy of the online application form, and the downloaded Information Brochure.

(n) Uploading of Documents: After successful online payment, the candidate must upload all required documents (see Documents Required section) on the portal within the specified window.
