New Delhi: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, has extended the resignation facility for NEET UG 2025 candidates allotted seats in Round-1 or Round-2.
Earlier, the resignation window was scheduled to close on September 24, 2025, but it has now been extended till 6:00 PM on September 29, 2025. This extension has been introduced following requests from students seeking additional time to complete the resignation process.
Key Guidelines for Resignation:
- Round-1 candidates who were not upgraded in Round-2 can resign without losing their security deposit if done within the given deadline.
- Fresh Round-2 allottees who joined their seat but now wish to resign may do so; however, their security deposit will be forfeited.
- Upgraded Round-2 candidates who joined the upgraded seat but now want to resign can also vacate their seat with forfeiture of security deposit.
- Candidates must report physically at their allotted college to resign. The college must generate the online Resignation Letter through the MCC portal, failing which the resignation will be considered null and void.
The extension offers candidates more flexibility to make informed decisions regarding their medical admissions.
