NEET (National Eligibility and admission Test) is a national-level medical entrance exam in India for students interested in studying MBBD/BDS/Ayush/BSc. Nursing courses at various government and private medical colleges in India. NEET counselling is the process by which candidates are assigned seats based on their NEET score and rank. The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) manages the NEET counselling procedure on behalf of the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) for 15% All India Quota seats in government medical and dental colleges. The different state administrations undertake state-level counselling for the remaining 85% of seats in government and private colleges inside their jurisdiction.

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is the authorised body to conduct counselling for the National Eligibility Cumulative Entrance Test, NEET UG 2023, for qualified applicants. Dates for NEET counselling in 2023 will be posted here as soon as they are notified. On the basis of NEET 2023, MCC would hold NEET counselling for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government institutions and 100% in deemed/central universities, ESIC/AFMS, AIIMS, JIPMER, and BSc Nursing programmes. The NEET AIQ counselling process in 2023 will be separated into four rounds: round 1, round 2, mop up, and stray vacancy. Counselling for 15% All India Quota

  • The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), Government of India, will hold the Counselling for 15% of All India Quota Seats.
  • All deemed central state universities will participate in online counselling.
  • This counselling will also fill ESIC, AFMC, BHU & AMU seats.
  • Candidates will apply for 15% All India Quota seats per the directions of DGHS, and Counselling will be stopped soon as the seats are filled.
  • Through this counselling, candidates can get enrolled in any of the medical colleges in India.
  • Those candidates who participate in All India Counselling can also participate in State Counselling of their respective states.

MCC NEET Counselling Process for AIQ Quota

Candidates applying for Medical/Dental Colleges in India must register for the AIQ NEET counselling 2023. Counselling of NEET for All India Quota will be conducted in two rounds in online mode. The counselling will consist of these steps.

  1. Candidate Registration: Register on the official website.
  2. Choice Filling and Locking (Round 1): You have to choose the courses and colleges of your preference and finally lock in the preferences in the online portal.
  3. Seat Allotment Result (Round 1): The seat allotment will be published online based on available vacancies and candidates’ choices.
  4. Reporting to college: Those who will be allotted a seat in the first round will be required to either reject the allotted seat or report to the allotted college and complete the admission formalities.
  5. New Registration (Round 2): For candidates who couldn’t register in the first round of counselling.
  6. Fresh Choice Filling and Locking (Round 2): This is similar to round 1 mentioned above.
  7. Seat Allotment Result (Round 2): This is similar to round 1 mentioned above.
  8. Reporting to college (Round 2): Here, it is to be noted that those who will be allotted a seat in the second round of counselling (15% AIQ Quota) will not be permitted to vacate their seats as per the orders made by the Supreme court of India.

Yes, NEET is mandatory for admission to undergraduate AYUSH courses. Admission to these courses will be through AYUSH UG counselling.

When will the counselling for NEET 2023 start?

NEET 2023 counselling is expected to begin in August 2023 after the result announcement.

What are the courses offered through NEET 2023?

The courses offered to those who qualify for NEET are as follows: MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BHMS, BSMS and BUMS. JIPMER announced that admission to its BSc Nursing courses would take place through NEET scores.

Is it necessary to present the admit card during MCC counselling 2023?

Yes, presenting the NEET 2023 admit card is crucial during counselling. Candidates will not be granted admission through NEET counselling without the admit card.

I forgot to lock the choices in the registration form for NEET. What should I do?

If an applicant forgets to lock the saved choices, the system will automatically consider these choices during the seat allotment list. However, candidates are advised to check the options filled and submit the same within the stipulated time.

Can I go to counselling in 2023 with 200 NEET marks? Pls, answer.

No, you are not eligible because there is no such provision by the NTA or MCC like this. For NEET 2023 counselling, you must be qualified the exam of NEET 2023, which will be conducted on July 17.

Can I apply to AIIMS through the MCC counselling of NEET 2023?

Yes, you can apply to AIIMS, JIPMER, BHU, AMU and other medical colleges through NEET counselling.

What is meant by Free Exit for NEET counselling?

If a candidate is allotted a seat in round one of NEET counselling but fails to report to the institute allocated within the designated duration, they shall not be penalised for it. The candidate will be eligible to participate in the next round of counselling. This is called ‘Free Exit’.
