New Delhi: As NEET UG 2025 gets closer, Edufever NEET experts have released cutoff predictions for this year. They have predicted the cutoff using statistical formulas based on students’ records in mock tests, sample papers, and last year’s exam patterns. With thousands of aspirants preparing for the exam, Edufever aims to provide clear and reliable insights to help students understand the expected cutoff and plan their preparation accordingly.

What Are Cutoff Marks?
The cutoff is the minimum score a candidate needs to qualify for admission into government and private medical colleges. It varies each year depending on several factors—exam difficulty, number of students and seat availability.

Predictions for NEET UG 2025
According to early analysis:
- The general category cutoff may rise to 715–720 out of 720, if the paper remains NCERT-based and moderately easy, as seen in many mock tests this year.
- OBC/SC/ST categories could see a jump of 5–10 marks compared to 2024.
- The EWS category may also experience a slight increase due to higher competition.
“The competition is intense. We are seeing a larger number of high scorers in mock tests compared to previous years,” said a senior faculty member from Edufever.
Why Is the Cutoff Expected to Be Higher This Year?
- Increased Number of Aspirants
NEET UG 2025 has seen a record number of registrations, crossing 22 lakh applicants, according to unofficial data from test prep companies. - Stronger Preparation Strategies
Students are relying more on AI-powered tools, test series, and structured crash courses, resulting in better overall preparation. - Consistency in Paper Pattern
Experts believe that unless there’s a sudden change in the difficulty level, the paper will favour well-prepared students, pushing cutoffs higher. - No Major Syllabus Reduction
Unlike during the COVID-19 period, NEET 2025 follows the full NCERT syllabus, giving no advantage to last-minute crammers.
How Should Students Respond?
Experts suggest that students should focus on accuracy, revise NCERT thoroughly, and practice full-length mock tests under timed conditions.
“Cutoff predictions should motivate students—not stress them out,” said Dr. Sanjay Tiwari, a senior NEET mentor. “You don’t need a perfect score to become a doctor, but you do need consistent effort.”
Final Word
While the official cutoff will only be announced after the exam and result declaration, early predictions act as a guiding light for aspirants. With a competitive environment, strong preparation, and smart strategy, students can still secure a seat—even if the bar goes higher than before.
