The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice calling attention to significant discrepancies in student data submitted by several medical colleges for MBBS admissions in the academic year 2024-25.

The notice, uploaded on the NMC official website, follows an earlier notification dated May 30, 2025, which had requested all medical colleges, institutions, and newly admitted students to verify their admission details through the Student Admission Portal.

Serious View Taken by NMC

The NMC has strongly condemned the negligence on the part of the institutions, warning that such lapses compromise transparency and affect students’ records and eligibility tracking.

In its notice, the Commission stated:

“The aforesaid negligence made by the colleges/institution has been viewed seriously by NMC authorities.”

Urgent Call to Action for Colleges and Students

The NMC has reiterated its request to:

  1. All Colleges/Institutions: Re-check the list of admitted students for MBBS 2024-25 on the NMC’s Student Admission Portal.
  2. Admitted Students: Verify that their names appear correctly in the uploaded list.

If any discrepancies or omissions are found, they must be reported within 7 days of the notice (by August 12, 2025) via email to: [email protected]

Students Not on List: Act Immediately

The NMC also issued a special advisory to students whose names do not appear in the uploaded MBBS admission list, instructing them to immediately consult:

  • Their respective medical college
  • The Directorate of Medical Education (DME)
  • Or the appropriate counselling authority

This action is essential to ensure that their admission is formally recorded and recognised by the national regulatory body.

Every year, the NMC mandates that medical colleges upload comprehensive and verified data of all admitted MBBS students to maintain accountability, prevent fraud, and facilitate seamless registration for further medical education and licensing.

With thousands of admissions across the country, maintaining the accuracy of student records is crucial for long-term academic tracking and eligibility for exams like NEET PG, internship allocation, and medical registration.

Note:

  • Medical Institutions: Verify all student records by August 12, 2025
  • Students: Ensure your name appears in the uploaded NMC list
  • Report Errors: Email discrepancies to [email protected]
