The NEET UG 2025 results are out, and many aspirants are eagerly checking their chances of securing an MBBS seat in government medical colleges. If you belong to the SC or ST category and have scored between 450 and 500 marks, here’s some good news: you have a strong chance of getting admission in a government MBBS college!
Why 450–500 is a Safe Score for SC/ST Candidates?
Every year, the NEET cutoff varies based on factors like the difficulty level of the exam, the number of candidates, and the seat availability. However, for reserved categories such as Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST), the cutoffs are significantly lower than those for the unreserved (general) category.
In NEET 2024, many SC/ST candidates with marks in the 450–500 range got MBBS seats in government medical colleges across India, especially in their home states. A similar trend is expected in NEET 2025.
