Principals have been directed to accept Free Exit requests in the enclosed prescribed format and must immediately return original certificates and the entire tuition fee (and other fees, if any) to exiting candidates. The university will freeze the latest data by the same deadline – 2:00 PM on September 12, 2026 – after which no candidate will be permitted to withdraw from a joined Phase-I seat.

Important Conditions for Candidates

The notification lays down the following key conditions candidates must be aware of before opting for Free Exit:

  • Candidates who avail Free Exit will not be eligible for further rounds of Competent Authority Quota (CAQ) counselling for the 2026-27 session
  • However, such candidates can still join under Management Quota (MQ) Phase-I of Dr. NTR UHS, Vijayawada, if a seat is allotted to them there
  • Candidates are advised to make an informed and calculated decision before opting for Free Exit, since the facility permanently removes them from further CAQ counselling phases

What Happens After the Deadline

The notice also clarifies the process for different categories of candidates once the Free Exit window closes:

  • Candidates who resign from their Phase-I seat before the deadline will be treated as “not reported/not joined,” and such vacated seats will be filled in Phase-II counselling as per rules
  • After the deadline, all Phase-I reported/joined candidates will automatically become part of Phase-II, and Phase-II rules will apply to them
  • Phase-I reported candidates who do not opt for Free Exit remain eligible to exercise Web Options in Phase-II as per their choice and counselling priority
  • Candidates who did not report at their Phase-I allotted college are eligible to exercise Web Options in Phase-II for all other colleges, except the one they did not join

Discontinuation Rule After Free Exit Window Closes

The notice further specifies that reported candidates who do not utilise the Free Exit facility within the given schedule cannot resign their seat during the rest of the admission process – that is, from Phase-III counselling until the closure of admissions.

Candidates should also note that all public holidays will be treated as working days for the purpose of this schedule.

Who This Notice Applies To

The notification has been addressed to the Principals of all Government, Un-aided Non-Minority, and Minority Private Medical Colleges, as well as Sri Padmavathi Medical College for Women (under SVIMS), Tirupati, in the State of Andhra Pradesh.
