AP NEET UG 2026 Free Exit Window Open: NTRUHS Deadline Sept 30

Vijayawada: Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS) has issued three notifications on free exit for candidates who joined MBBS and BDS seats in Andhra Pradesh for 2026-27. The notices are dated September 29, 2026. Eligible candidates can exit their joined seats on or before 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026 by submitting a request to the college Principal.

What Happens After Free Exit?

MBBS Management Quota (Phase-I):

• Candidates who exit can take part in MQ Phase-II counselling of NTRUHS.
• They have no right to claim the seat they left, or any earlier not-reported or resigned seat, in Phase-II or later rounds.

MBBS and BDS Competent Authority Quota:

• Candidates who use free exit will not be eligible for further rounds of Competent Authority Quota counselling in 2026-27.
• The notices say such candidates can still join Management Quota (MQ) counselling of NTRUHS if a seat is allotted to them.
• The university advises candidates to take an informed and calculated decision before using this facility.

Refund and College Responsibilities

• Principals must accept free exit requests in the prescribed format.
• Colleges must return the candidate’s original certificates and the entire tuition fee and other fees, if any, immediately.
• Colleges must freeze the latest data by 9:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
• After this deadline, no candidate is allowed to withdraw from a joined seat under the round covered by the notice.

What Happens to Vacated Seats and Remaining Candidates

• Candidates who resign before the deadline are treated as “not reported/not joined”. Their seats will be filled in the next phase (Phase-II for Phase-I exits, Phase-III for Phase-II exits) as per rules.
• Candidates who stay in their seats are treated as part of the next phase, and that phase’s rules apply to them.
• Candidates who did not exit can exercise web options for the next phase in their order of preference.
• Candidates who did not report at their allotted college can exercise web options for all colleges except the one they did not join. The notices give this rule for the Competent Authority Quota rounds.

No Resignation After This Window

Reported candidates who do not use the free exit facility on schedule cannot resign their seat from Phase-III counselling until admissions close. The BDS and MBBS Competent Authority Quota notices describe this under the heading “Discontinuation from the Course”. The Management Quota notice states the same rule.

How to Apply for Free Exit

1. Download or collect the free exit application proforma for your course and quota.
2. Fill in your name, registration ID, NEET UG 2026 rank and roll number, phone number, address, college and reason for exit.
3. Get the form signed by both the candidate and the parent or guardian.
4. Submit it to the Principal of your college before 5:00 PM on September 30, 2026.
5. Collect your original certificates and fees from the college.

By signing, the candidate confirms that they have no claim on the joined seat. For Competent Authority Quota, candidates also confirm they will not take part in future phases of that quota.

Who Should Think Carefully Before Exiting

• Candidates in Competent Authority Quota seats should be careful, as they lose access to all further CQ rounds.
• Candidates hoping for a better seat in the same quota should use web options in the next phase instead of exiting.
