AP NTRUHS Warns Medical/Dental Aspirants Against Fake Admission Agents

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (NTRUHS), Vijayawada, has issued a public advisory cautioning UG and PG medical and dental aspirants in Andhra Pradesh against individuals and groups falsely claiming they can secure seats through unofficial means.

Why the Advisory Was Issued

The university noted that certain consultants, brokers, YouTubers and social media groups have been misleading students and parents by claiming links to government officials, political leaders, or university staff and in some cases circulating forged documents to appear credible. NTRUHS has clarified that all such claims are false and intended to defraud candidates.

How Admissions Are Actually Conducted

  • All UG and PG medical/dental admissions under the State Quota are done only through online counselling, as per government rules.
  • Competent Authority (Convener) Quota seats are allotted based on NEET rank, reservation rules, and web options exercised by candidates.
  • Management Quota (B-Category & NRI Quota) seats are allotted based on NEET rank and phase-wise web options.

No individual, consultant or agency has any authority to influence or alter this process.

Common Fraud Tactics Flagged by the University

  • Promises of guaranteed seats, admission without NEET, or admission with a low NEET score
  • Demands for advance payment or deposits into personal accounts
  • Operating without a registered office or verified address
  • Circulating forged seat allotment letters

What Candidates Should Do

The advisory urges students and parents to rely only on the official website – drntr.uhsap.in – for notifications, prospectus details, and counselling schedules. Candidates have also been told never to share their login credentials, OTPs, or personal admission details with any third party during counselling.

Anyone who suspects fraudulent activity has been advised to file a complaint with the local police station or the Cyber Crime Portal, and to inform the university where necessary. The advisory also notes that preparing or circulating forged admission documents is a punishable offence under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Information Technology Act, 2000.

NTRUHS Registrar Dr. T. Sai Sudheer signed the advisory, reiterating that every seat is allotted strictly on merit through the prescribed counselling process, with no shortcuts available.
