The Office of the Commissioner, Medical Education, Chhattisgarh has issued an important notice for candidates claiming NRI (Non-Resident Indian) quota eligibility under the state-level counselling for NEET UG admissions 2026.
The notice has been issued in line with the guidelines circulated by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Government of India, and Rule-13 of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025.

Candidates seeking admission under the NRI quota in Chhattisgarh’s state-level NEET UG counselling must submit documents supporting their NRI eligibility claim for verification.
How and Where to Submit Documents
- Documents must be sent to the official email ID: [email protected]
- All original documents must be scanned in colour, clearly legible, and combined into a single PDF file in sequence
- Black-and-white scans or illegible documents will not be accepted
- The email subject line must mention: “NEET UG 2026 – NRI Quota Document Verification – Candidate Name – NEET Roll Number”
- Applications or documents received after the deadline will not be accepted
Important Points for NRI Quota Candidates
- Only candidates found eligible after verification will be allotted a seat under the NRI quota
- Candidates found ineligible for the NRI quota will not have their application rejected outright – they will continue to be considered under their applicable eligible category in the counselling process
- NRI quota candidates will not get separate registration or separate choice filling; they must complete online registration and choice filling as per the regular schedule
- At the time of admission, submitted documents will be cross-checked against originals, and appropriate action will be taken in case of incorrect, incomplete, or misleading documents
Documents Required for NRI Eligibility
- Genealogy/family tree certificate establishing relation between the candidate and the NRI, issued by a Tehsildar or higher competent authority
- Self-attested copy of the NRI’s passport
- Documents establishing the NRI’s residence status abroad, such as valid visa, green card, citizenship certificate, or proof of foreign residence/employment
- Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card, if applicable
- NRI/NRE or equivalent bank account statement, if applicable
- Work permit/green card, if applicable
- Documents/evidence related to legal guardian, if the NRI eligibility claim is based on guardianship
- Any other document required under Rule-13 of the Chhattisgarh Medical, Dental and Physiotherapy Undergraduate Admission Rules, 2025, if applicable
Candidates are advised to prepare their documents strictly as per the format specified and ensure timely submission to avoid rejection of their NRI quota claim.
