Dr NTR UHS BDS 2026 Free Exit Notice for Phase 1 Candidates

Dr. NTR University of Health Sciences (UHS), Vijayawada, has issued a notification allowing Free Exit for candidates who reported/joined seats in Phase 1 of BDS admissions under the Competent Authority Quota (CAQ) for the academic year 2026-27. The notice, dated September 23, 2026, is a continuation of the university’s earlier notification dated September 11, 2026.

Key Dates

• Free Exit Request Deadline: 4:00 PM, September 23, 2026 (submit to the concerned Principal)
• Data Freeze Deadline: 5:00 PM, September 23, 2026

Important Conditions for Free Exit

• Candidates who avail Free Exit will not be eligible for further rounds of Competent Authority Quota counselling.
• However, such candidates can still join Management Quota (MQ) Phase 1 of Dr. NTR UHS, Vijayawada, if allotted a seat there.
• Candidates are advised to make an informed and calculated decision before opting for Free Exit, as this facility permanently forfeits eligibility for subsequent CAQ counselling phases in 2026-27.

Process for Principals

• Principals must accept Free Exit requests in the prescribed format.
• Original certificates and the entire tuition fee (and other fees, if any) must be returned immediately to exiting candidates.
• Principals must freeze the latest data by 5:00 PM on September 23, 2026. After this, no candidate will be permitted to withdraw from a joined Phase 1 seat.

What Happens to Vacated Seats

• Candidates who resign from their Phase 1 seat before the deadline will be treated as not reported/not joined, and such seats will be filled in Phase 2 counselling as per rules.
• After the deadline, all Phase 1 reported/joined candidates will automatically become part of Phase 2, and Phase 2 rules will apply to them.

Eligibility for Phase 2 Web Options

• Phase 1 reported candidates who do not opt for Free Exit are eligible to exercise Web Options for Phase 2 as per their choice and priority.
• Candidates who did not report at their Phase 1 allotted college are eligible to exercise Web Options in Phase 2 for all other colleges, except the one they failed to join.

Discontinuation Rule

Reported candidates who do not utilize the Free Exit facility within the given schedule cannot resign their seat from Phase 3 counselling until the closure of admissions.

Additional Note

As per the university, all public holidays shall be treated as working days for this process.

Candidates seeking Free Exit must submit the application (in the prescribed proforma) to their respective Dental College Principal, along with their Registration ID, NEET UG 2026 Rank and Roll Number, and reasons for exit. The notice has been addressed to Principals of all Government, Un-aided Non-Minority, and Minority Private Dental Colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
