The Admission Committee for Professional Undergraduate & Postgraduate Medical Educational Courses (ACPUGMEC & ACPPGMEC), Government of Gujarat, has issued detailed instructions for NRI category candidates applying for 1st year MBBS/BDS admission 2026-27. The committee, constituted under the Gujarat Professional Medical Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Fixation of Fees) Act, 2007, has laid out eligibility norms, required documents, and fee details specifically for NRI quota applicants.
Key Instructions for NRI Candidates
- Candidates must carefully read admission rules before applying – any factually incorrect information can lead to cancellation of admission and legal action.
- Candidates themselves must complete the online registration.
- PIN Fee: Rs. 1,000 (non-refundable) + Rs. 10,000 (Refundable Security Deposit) = Total Rs. 11,000, purchasable from www.medadmgujarat.org.
- Document verification and submission for NRI Quota candidates will be conducted only at the ACPUGMEC Office, GMERS Medical College, Gandhinagar.
- After online application, candidates must submit a Demand Draft of Rs. 10,000 (non-refundable) in favour of “ACPUGMEC”, payable at Gandhinagar, at the time of document verification. Applications without this DD will not be considered.
- Students admitted will receive their degree from the University to which the allotted college is affiliated.
- Applications must be accompanied by notarized copies of all required certificates and documents.
- Any change in documents or exam marks after submission must be promptly reported to the ACPUGMEC office with an attested copy.
- Admission to NRI quota seats will be finalized strictly on the basis of the merit list as per prescribed rules.
Who Qualifies as NRI/OCI

Eligibility Criteria (As per Health & Family Welfare Department, Gujarat)
- The candidate – or their parents/legal guardian in their absence – must be a Non-Resident Indian.
- Must have obtained the minimum qualifying marks in 12th Standard as per the regulatory council.
- Must have appeared in NEET-UG 2026 and been declared “Qualified.”
- Must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31st December of the admission year.
- A Provisional Eligibility Certificate must be obtained from the concerned university within one month of admission.
Merit List
Admission to eligible NRI quota candidates will be based purely on a merit list prepared using the NEET-UG 2026 score.

Important Note on Documents
- All documents must be submitted in English. Non-English documents require certified translation, including converted dates in DD/MM/YYYY format, along with the notarized original-language copy.
- Original documents must be produced for verification at the Help Center. Any discrepancy found – during scrutiny or later – can lead to cancellation of admission, expulsion, and criminal action.
Hostel & Fee Rules
Join NEET News 2026 - Hostel accommodation will be offered subject to availability; admission to college does not guarantee hostel allotment. Allotment decisions rest with the Dean/Principal.
- Hostel fees are fixed by the respective college management and must be paid before each term begins.
- As long as the student’s father is alive, no other person will ordinarily be accepted as legal guardian.
