About J&K Board of Professional Entrance Examinations
All government actions aim to promote human growth and improve people’s quality of life. The state needs highly qualified people to deal with health-related issues and promote good health. The medical education department trains medical and paramedical personnel to meet the state’s health needs.
In 2002, the State Legislature passed the Jammu and Kashmir Professional Entrance Examination Board Act (jkbopee.gov.in). The Jammu and Kashmir Professional Entrance Examination Board was constituted. Under the Act, the Board replaced the previously existing Competent Authority Entrance Examination. The purpose of creating an examination body for entrance examinations by the Act of the Legislature was to empower it to execute the selection of candidates independently, fairly and more efficiently.
JKBOPEE Functioning & its Process:-
Creating a full-time examining body was to organise Entrance Tests more transparently and orderly, in the pattern followed in other parts of the country. The Competent Authority thus performed its task of conducting Entrance Examinations satisfactorily.
However, after conducting the standard entrance tests for the MD/MS/PG Diploma, MD/MS Ayurveda courses, and MBBS/BDS at the national level, the Board conducts the post-examination process, including the counselling process for filling up the seats in the institution. The Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations operates from its two offices, each in Srinagar and Jammu, for the students of their respective divisions.
