Karnataka NEET UG 2026 Round 3 Seat Allotment, Schedule, Rules Out

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has released the notice for Round 3 online seat allotment to UG Medical and Dental courses under UGNEET 2026. The official notice (No. ED/KEA/CR-11/UGNEET/2026) was issued on 23 September 2026.

The medical and dental seats that remained vacant after the second round of seat allotment – published on the KEA website on 17 September 2026 – along with any seats cancelled, forfeited, or added after Round 2, will be offered in this third round of counselling. Candidates are advised to keep checking the KEA website for updates, as seat matrix changes may occur at any point before the final allotment.

Who Can Participate in Round 3?

Eligible candidates:

• Candidates who were not allotted any medical seat in Round 1 and Round 2.
• Candidates who have cancelled their medical/dental seat by paying the applicable penalty.
• Candidates who have already reported to a medical/dental college and wish to participate for up-gradation (as per recent Hon’ble High Court orders).

Not eligible to participate:

• Candidates allotted a medical/dental seat in Round 1 or Round 2 who failed to exercise their choice.
• Candidates allotted a seat in Round 1 or Round 2 under Choice-4.

Important Instructions for Candidates

• Candidates who have already reported to a medical/dental college need not pay the Caution Deposit.
• The fee paid for other courses (Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, etc.) will not be considered as Caution Deposit for Round 3 – a separate payment is mandatory.
• All candidates must enter fresh options; previously entered options in earlier rounds will not be carried forward or considered.
• If allotted a seat in Round 3, the Caution Deposit will be adjusted against fees. If a candidate is allotted a seat but fails to join or wishes to cancel, the Caution Deposit will be forfeited, along with the applicable penalty, and the candidate will become ineligible for future counselling rounds, including All India Counselling.

For Candidates Already Reported to a College (Up-gradation)

• Once a candidate secures an upgraded seat in Round 3, the previously allotted seat is automatically cancelled and cannot be reinstated under any circumstance.
• Candidates must compulsorily take admission in the newly allotted college.
• If a candidate does not get a seat in Round 3, their earlier allotted seat (if any) stands confirmed.

Provisional and Final Results

• Round 3 allotment will be based on merit and the priority of options entered by candidates.
• The provisional result will be published on the KEA website after the All India Quota Round 3 result is declared.
• Candidates who secure a seat under All India Quota Round 3 and also get a KEA Round 3 seat can retain the KEA seat only by submitting a written request within a day of the provisional result announcement – otherwise, they will not be considered for the final allotment, and the Caution Deposit will not be refunded.

What Candidates Must Do

• Candidates who have already taken admission in Engineering, Agriculture, or Veterinary colleges should participate only if genuinely interested in a medical/dental seat, and must obtain original documents from their current college in time.
• Study the seat matrix and fee structure carefully before entering options, and discuss with parents before finalising choices.
• If allotted a seat in the final result, candidates must pay fees and take admission with all original documents by the specified deadline – failure to do so will invite legal action as per KEA norms.
