Maharashtra NEET UG 2026: MBBS, BDS CAP Round 1 Schedule Released

The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has released the registration schedule for Round 1 of the Centralized Admission Process (CAP) for MBBS and BDS (Group A) courses for the academic year 2026-27. The schedule was announced through Notice No. 03, dated August 5, 2026.

The CAP is meant for candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 and wish to seek admission to Government, Government Aided, Municipal Corporation, Private Unaided, and other notified Medical and Dental Colleges in the state. Admissions will be based strictly on merit obtained in NEET UG 2026.

Registration Schedule for CAP Round 1 (Group A)

  • Online Registration and Session Apply: August 6 to August 12, 2026 (up to 11:59 pm)
  • Payment of Registration Fees: August 6 to August 13, 2026 (up to 11:59 pm)
  • Uploading of scanned documents: August 6 to August 13, 2026 (up to 11:59 pm)
  • Document Verification (online/scrutiny center): August 7 to August 14, 2026
  • Publication of Registered Candidate List: August 15, 2026
  • Publication of Provisional Merit List: August 15, 2026
  • Submission of Grievances: August 16 to August 17, 2026
  • Publication of Final Merit List: August 18, 2026
  • Publication of Seat Matrix: August 18, 2026
  • Online Choice/Preference Filling: August 19 to August 22, 2026 (up to 5:30 pm)
  • Declaration of CAP Round 1 Result: August 23, 2026
  • Physical Joining at Allotted College: August 24 to August 28, 2026 (up to 5:30 pm)

Key Points for Candidates

  • Only candidates who have qualified NEET UG 2026 for MBBS/BDS are eligible to register in this phase.
  • Registration and document uploads must be completed only through the official portal, mahacet.org, within the stipulated timelines. Candidates who fail to upload the required documents risk not being considered for admission under their claimed category.
  • A candidate will be treated as registered only after successful payment of the registration fee.
  • PWD candidates must have claimed the quota at the time of NEET 2026 and must submit a PWD eligibility certificate from an approved medical board.
  • EWS candidates must submit a certificate valid for 2026-27 in the Maharashtra State Government format; central government format certificates will not be accepted.
  • Candidates claiming reservation must have their Caste Certificate, Caste Validity Certificate, and Non-Creamy Layer Certificate (where applicable) ready at the time of registration. As per a July 2, 2026 government resolution, OBC and SEBC candidates have been given up to six months from the date of registration to submit their Caste Validity Certificate, failing which their admission may be cancelled.
  • NRI candidates must register on the Foreign Candidate Registration Portal before August 11, 2026, and are eligible only for the 15% Institute Quota as per merit.
  • Fees for physical joining must be paid via Demand Draft; payment by cheque is allowed only on bank holidays and must be replaced with a DD on the next working day, failing which the admission may be cancelled.

The CET Cell noted that the schedule is subject to change based on directions from authorities such as the MCC, AACCC, or the Central/State Government or courts. Registration schedules for Group B and Group C courses, as well as for subsequent CAP rounds, will be announced separately. Candidates are advised to keep checking mahacet.org regularly for updates.
