NEET UG 2025 Round 1 Counselling: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has extended the Round 1 schedule of the NEET UG Counselling 2025 again. The extension follows several requests from PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities) candidates, who are still in the process of obtaining valid disability certificates from designated centres.
This change provides the final opportunity for all NEET-qualified candidates participating in the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling, including admissions to MBBS, BDS, and B.Sc. Nursing and AYUSH courses under the MCC portal.
Here’s all you need to know about the revised NEET UG 2025 counselling schedule, what it means for choice filling, and how you should plan your next steps.

Why the MCC Extended NEET UG 2025 Round 1 Counselling Again?
The MCC listened to the rising number of appeals from PwBD candidates who are still undergoing the mandatory medical evaluation at authorised disability centers.
Since a valid disability certificate is essential to claim a reservation under the PwBD category, and delays were reported at multiple centers, the committee decided to extend the deadline across all Round 1 activities to ensure fairness and inclusivity.
This decision has been welcomed by student communities, and also acknowledged the MCC’s responsive approach to candidate welfare and equal opportunity in NEET 2025 AIQ counselling.
Note: If you haven’t locked in your choice filling strategy or faced challenges uploading documents or paying fees, now is your chance to complete the process.

Tips For MCC Counselling Choice Filling
As you finalise your preferences during the extended window, keep these tips in mind:
- Research College Cut-Offs: Check the previous year’s NEET AIQ cut-off ranks to understand which colleges are realistic for your score.
- Mix Government & Private Colleges: Make a balanced list of dream, realistic, and safe colleges. Include deemed universities if financially viable.
- Order Matters: List colleges in your true preference order – the MCC algorithm allots the highest available option.
- Don’t List Colleges You Won’t Join: Avoid adding colleges just to fill slots if you’re unwilling to accept admission there.
