MCC NEET UG Counselling Schedule 2025
- NEET UG 2005 result is expected to be declared by June 14, 2025. After the result is declared, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will announce the counselling procedure.
- MCC NEET 2025 counselling is likely to begin in the last week of July or early August 2025. This timeline is based on the general pattern.
- The counselling process will continue for about four months, depending on the availability of seats and the number of counselling rounds. If everything goes as planned, the entire process may be completed by November 2025.
- The counselling will be conducted exclusively for 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats in government and participating medical colleges across India. This quota is open to all NEET-qualified candidates from India, except candidates from the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, as they are not eligible for AIQ unless they have separately registered for it under special provisions.
Factors Influence MCC NEET 2025 Counselling
1. NEET Result Announcement

2. Number of Qualified Students
If more students clear the NEET, the competition becomes tougher. This also increases the cut-off and affects the speed of filling seats.
3. Seat Matrix From Colleges
The colleges have to send the seat details to MCC. After MCC receives this data, it prepares the seat matrix for MBBS, BDS and BSc Nursing courses. Any delay on the part of the colleges may delay the counselling.
4. Reservation Rules
MCC follows reservation policies for SC, ST, OBC, EWS and PWD categories. If the government changes any rules, it directly affects the seat allotment process.
5. Participation of Other Institutes
Central universities, AIIMS, JIPMER, ESIC and deemed universities also participate in MCC counselling. Their seat numbers and availability affect the entire programme.
6. All India Quota (AIQ) Seats
MCC conducts counselling for 15% AIQ seats in government medical colleges (except J&K). If any AIQ seat remains empty, MCC gives it back to the state. This return process also takes time.
7. Number of Counselling Rounds
MCC decides the number of rounds—like Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up, and Stray Vacancy—based on how many seats are left after each round.
8. Candidate Eligibility and Documents
If a student doesn’t upload the correct documents or fails eligibility rules, MCC may cancel their seat. These errors affect the speed of counselling.
9. Online Portal and Technical Setup
Since the process is fully online, any website or server issue can delay registration, choice filling, or result announcement.
10. Court Cases or Legal Matters
If any court case comes up about NEET, reservation, or counselling, MCC has to wait for the final decision. This can delay the whole process.
