MCC NEET UG Stray Round 2026 Registration Starts

The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has announced that registration for the NEET UG 2026 stray vacancy round will begin on October 13, 2026. The notice appears under “Latest News” on the official UG Medical Counselling page and reads that registration will be available from tomorrow, i.e. 13.10.2026. The stray vacancy round is the last stage of MCC’s NEET UG counselling for MBBS and BDS seats.

Registration starts a day later than the earlier schedule

The published schedule had stray vacancy registration running from October 12 to 14. The new notice moves the start to October 13. It does not say whether the closing date or other deadlines have changed, so candidates should not assume the earlier end dates still apply.

Which seats does the stray round cover?

The MCC stray vacancy round covers only the 15% All India Quota seats, plus 100% of seats in deemed universities, central universities, AFMC and AIIMS/JIPMER institutions. State quota seats are not part of it. Those are filled by state counselling authorities such as WBMCC in West Bengal.

How candidates can register

1. Go to mcc.nic.in and open the UG Medical Counselling section.
2. Complete a fresh registration, as MCC requires new registration for the stray round.
3. Pay the counselling fee within the window.
4. Fill and lock choices once the choice-filling window opens.
5. Wait for the allotment result and report to the allotted institute with original documents.

Candidates who were allotted a seat earlier should check the eligibility rules in the official information bulletin before registering. Those who have already joined a seat should be especially careful about the exit and resignation conditions.
