MP AYUSH 2026: Eligibility, Fees, Admission Bond Rules FAQs

Bhopal: The Directorate of AYUSH, Madhya Pradesh, has released an official FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) document for candidates participating in the AYUSH Counselling Admission Session 2026-27, covering everything from registration and password issues to choice filling, upgradation, and seat-leaving bond rules. The FAQ has been issued by Dr. Pankaj Gupta, Deputy Director, Directorate of AYUSH, MP.

Here’s a complete breakdown of the key questions answered in the official FAQ.

Registration and Login

• Is registration mandatory? Yes, as per NCISM/NCH and MP AYUSH Department rules for the 2026-27 session, eligible candidates must register on the MP Online Portal within the notified dates, after first creating a profile.
• Is registration required at every round? No. Registration is available at every stage of counselling, but candidates who have already registered once do not need to register again. However, a separate registration is required for candidates wanting to participate in the All India Quota counselling conducted by MP Online.
• Aadhaar-linked mobile number: Candidates must use their Aadhaar-linked mobile number while creating their profile and registering, as OTP/password will be sent to this number. An alternate mobile number (of a parent/guardian) must also be provided. One registered mobile number cannot be used by more than one candidate. Candidates must ensure their name, parents’ names, mobile number and other details match exactly across their Aadhaar card, NEET application, and original documents.
• Profile creation process: Candidates must enter their NEET UG roll number and date of birth on the official counselling portal, then fill in academic and personal details to lock their profile.
• Password issues: After successful registration, the system automatically sends the password via SMS to the registered mobile number and email ID. If password creation fails, it is usually because it doesn’t meet complexity rules (at least one capital letter, one small letter, one number, and one special character). Forgotten passwords can be reset using the “Forgot Password”/”Reset Password” option using the roll number and registered mobile number.
• OTP not received? Possible causes include weak network, DND (Do Not Disturb) service being active, or heavy traffic/technical issues on the portal server.
• Registration form printout: Candidates must download and preserve a printout of the fully filled registration form, as it needs to be submitted during document verification and college admission.

Reservation and Category Rules

• Candidates can apply for reservation under only one category/quota at a time – multiple categories cannot be claimed simultaneously.
• The 3% horizontal reservation under the Ex-Servicemen category applies only to children of personnel serving/retired/deceased/disabled in the three wings of the Indian Armed Forces (Army, Navy, Air Force) – children of personnel in paramilitary forces like BSF, CRPF etc. are not eligible.
• Candidates not wishing to claim benefits under Ex-Servicemen, Freedom Fighter, Divyang (PwD) or Women categories can apply without any category tag under their general reservation category (UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS).
• Divyang (PwD) candidates must submit both the required Disability Certificates — issued by the District Hospital Board and by an MCI-recognised Disability Certification Centre.
• State quota reserved seats are available only to bonafide/local residents of Madhya Pradesh, who must submit relevant proof; reserved category candidates must submit a caste certificate issued by a competent MP authority.
• In government colleges, only MP-domicile candidates are eligible for state quota seats; in private colleges, unreserved seats are open to candidates from outside MP as well, but reserved seats in private colleges are available only to MP-domicile candidates, with local candidates given preference for unreserved seats too.

Choice Filling, Locking and Seat Allotment

• Registration and choice filling are entirely online – candidates do not need to visit any college for these steps and can complete them from anywhere via internet.
• Choice filling and locking are mandatory in every round of counselling (Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, or stray round) to be considered for seat allotment.
• Candidates must fill a minimum of one choice; there is no upper limit, and locking the choices after filling is compulsory.
• After seat allotment, candidates get two options: “Satisfied” (accept the allotted seat) or “Opt for Upgradation” (seek a better institute in the next round).
• Candidates who choose “Satisfied” must report to the allotted college with original documents and photocopies within the notified dates to complete admission, failing which the allotment will be cancelled – though they remain eligible for the next round as per rules.
• Candidates who opt for “Upgrade” must repeat choice filling and locking in the next round; failing to do so will cancel their previous allotment, and they won’t be considered for any seat in that round.
• Candidates who have already taken admission in a college by completing the admission process are not eligible for subsequent rounds.
• If no seat is allotted in Round 1 or Round 2, candidates remain eligible for the next round of counselling.
• If a candidate doesn’t take admission on a seat allotted in Round 1, they remain eligible for subsequent rounds as per the Admission Counselling Rules 2026.

Document Verification

• Document verification is required only once during the entire counselling process; after that, candidates need to appear with original documents and photocopies at any of the state’s 9 government AYUSH colleges on the notified dates and slots.
• Candidates can appear for document verification at any government Ayurved, Homeopathy or Unani college in MP on the notified dates/slots – regardless of which college slot they had booked.
• If a candidate couldn’t appear on their booked date/slot, they can appear at any other government AYUSH college, on any other date/slot within the notified schedule.
• If verification could not be completed in a given round, a previously registered candidate can still appear for verification in the next round at any government AYUSH college on the notified date and time.

Upgradation Option

• The upgradation option is available only during Round 1 and Round 2 counselling.
• If a candidate opts for upgradation in Round 1/Round 2 but is not upgraded in the next round, their previously allotted seat remains intact – provided they complete choice filling and locking again.

Seat Cancellation and Seat-Leaving Bond

• Admission cancellation from an allotted seat is done online, and the candidate must be personally present at the admitted college on the date and time fixed at the college level for the cancellation process.
• Fee refund/deduction on cancellation of admission will be governed by the rules specified in the Counselling Rules 2026-27.
• Candidates admitted to UG (BAMS/BHMS/BUMS) or PG courses in government autonomous institutions must submit a seat-leaving bond at the time of admission. If the seat remains vacant after the final counselling round or admission is cancelled thereafter, the candidate must pay:
  • Rs 2 lakh for UG courses
  • Rs 5 lakh for PG courses before the admission cancellation is processed.

Stray Vacancy Round Eligibility

Candidates eligible for the stray vacancy round include:

• Candidates allotted a seat in any of Round 1, 2 or 3 who have already taken admission
• All previously registered and verified candidates, plus new candidates who complete registration and verification

Candidates who were allotted a seat in Round 1 or Round 2 but did not take admission in that college will not be eligible for the stray vacancy round.

Special Course Eligibility (BNYS and Yoga/Naturopathy PG)

• For admission to the Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS) course, NEET qualification is not mandatory. Candidates need to have passed Class 12 (10+2) separately in Physics, Chemistry and Biology, with a combined minimum of 50% marks for General/EWS category and 40% for reserved categories.
• Candidates seeking admission to PG courses in Yoga and Naturopathy must have completed their internship before registering for each round of counselling.
