NEET UG 2025: Why Were Results Withheld?

These candidates’ results were initially kept on hold following petitions to the Madhya Pradesh High Court, alleging that disruptions caused by power outages at exam centres in Indore and Ujjain, compromised fairness during NEET UG 2025.

A single-judge bench had recommended a re-test, but a division bench later stayed that order and allowed NTA to declare their scores separately. Their results were updated in the MP state database on 14 July.

Details for Candidates

  • The move ensures these aspirants are no longer excluded and can fully participate in NEET UG counselling under Madhya Pradesh’s state quota.
  • Despite delays, the corrected results allow them to align with the ongoing MPDME schedule.
  • These candidates are eligible for the 85% state quota seats.
  • Candidates must register by 29 July to avoid missing the window and losing eligibility.

The MP HC’s intervention again questions on NTA’s functioning and NEET’s conduct. Similar cases in other courts, including the Madras High Court, had stayed result declarations for students affected by exam-day disruptions earlier in the year.

Such judicial review highlights both the intensity of NEET UG’s high-stakes environment and the need for procedural fairness.

If your NEET-UG 2025 score was delayed, you now have a second chance. Register on the official MPDME portal before 29 July, fill your choices, and stay updated through the schedule to secure a state quota medical seat.

Missing this window could mean forfeiting an opportunity for this counselling round.
